We chose to break our journey southwards at Le Manoor de Crisolles. It was a bit pot luck but what a treasure we discovered. 
We were received with a cold beer and shown to our wonderful bedroom which was suitable for a honeymoon couple (fifty years too late).
Francoise prepared a superb evening meal including some home grown elements.
After a good night’s rest, we set off after breakfast vowing to stay at Le Manoir de Crisolles if we ever pss this way again.

First time at this lovely chambre d'hote run by Francoise and Gerard. They are a really nice couple, Francoise speaks English but Gerard doesn't - although he can, but limited.
We were given a very clean, tidy, beautifully decorated en suite room with plenty of hot water and everything else you could want.
We shared dinner with another French couple, again, one spoke English, so communication was manageable. 
Gerard does the cooking, and is very good at it. We had an appetiser with a glass of Gerard's home made Walnut wine, which was like a very nice port. Home made (of course) leek tart followed. I don't like leeks but this was amazing and home grown. Roast Guinea Fowl followed, then a cheese selection which would embarrass a lot of UK restaurants! Dessert was rhubarb & blackberry crumble, yes home grown or gathered. Oh, & washed down with a very nice Bordeaux.
Gerard played local rugby and as we were en route to Paris to see England play, he and I were able to converse about rugby and the forthcoming match. 
Very freshly pressed OJ with breakfast of the usual bread etc with home made jams.
This was a wonderful "find" for us and one we will be returning to again I'm sure.

We had  two night stay and it was amazing.  The rooms were spacious and very comfortable and exceptionally clean,  The hosts were very friendly and the accommodation and food, which was locally sourced, was first class.  I would highly recommend Le Manoir de Crisolles.

Le manoir de Crissoles offers the visitor a truly wonderful experience.  The hosts Francoise and Gerard are very friendly who provide high quality evening meals which you must request - local produce cooked to perfection.  The rooms are spacious, modern with either a small or a very large balcony - both rooms look out over quiet verdant landscapes. it is a haven suitable for couples or families with children.  The grounds are picturesque were you can wander at leisure.  Stay a couple of nights at least and enjoy the different meals cooked by wonderful hosts.

We stopped overnight here on our way home from the South.   It was easy to find and we had a warm welcome from Francoise.  We had booked the Douceur d'Antan room which was beautifully decorated and very clean.  Tea and coffee facilities were provided in the room and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the front garden. We had booked the table d'hotes, which was excellent, with some local specialities.  Our bed was comfortable, the room was nice and quiet. Breakfast was french bread, croissants, home made jams, yoghurt and cake, with orange juice and coffee, more than enough after the lovely meal we had enjoyed the night before!  Thoroughly recommended.
