Chateau Argouges is a wonderful place to stay in Normandy. The château is beautiful, well kept, well stocked, clean, spacious, and that’s just the interior. The gardens, swimming pool, trampoline, game room, swings, lanes to walk down… all made our experience perfect for adults and for children. We enjoyed some restaurants in Bayeux, but also enjoy getting steaks and oysters and fish from a local fishmonger and grilling and cooking at home. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thibault recommended a chef for one of the nights and he was a fabulous chef, François. With 11 of us, including two children under four, it was a perfect solution and easy to travel to all of the Normandy D-Day sites. If our bucket list wasn’t so long, we would go back here next year.

We didn't know what to expect,and paying the bill and getting information wasn't that easy,book direct with the manager!
We had fun picking our rooms,as we had booked all the Chateau ,you have everything you need on site ,pool heated, gymnasium,games room garden.
You are very close to the landing beaches by car ten minutes,golf Omaha beach.
One of the best holidays I've had, you can also hire Chef's for a special occasion.
The manager and his wife are very helpful and nice.

We rented this lovely chateau near Bayeux and couldn't have been happier. We only used 4 of the 8 bedrooms with attached baths but it accommodates 18. We hired a chef recommended by the owners for 3 of our evenings. The dining room is lovely but it was even more special to be served at one of our outdoor tables. 

An amazing property, what's there not to like. This is our second visit and we are planning a third! Lovely hosts, Amanda who cleans for us everyday and let's not forget Holiday the New Foundland dog! 

We travel each year, a group of friends from 45 to 90ish.  As we get older we want en-suites, plenty of room, a kitchen we can cook in, a few rooms we can relax  in and pleasant surroundings.  Chateau d'Argouges has all of this plus a charming owner, a heated  outdoor swimming pool and a daily housekeeper.  If you have a party with children, stick them on the upper floors (lots of stairs) if no children in the party keep fit by doing the stairs yourselves, several times a day!  Free wifi but you do need to be on the first floor (that's the second for American readers).  There is a fabulous baker only about 7 minutes drive away, the coast is only 15 minutes max, as is Bayeaux (for the tapestry) which is a lovely town with a cathedral, lots of cafes and restaurants, and nice areas to walk.   The whole area has reminders of WW2 D Day landings, and you can immerse yourselves in history or not as you like.  I preferred to go to the beaches and walk and think, but the museums are worth visiting.  All in all, in that little strip behind the Atlantic Ocean, you will find a place that is beautiful and quite different.  And of course a chateau to come home to!

The chateau was a perfect venue for all our family to unite.It is set in tranquil, unspoiled countryside near  Port en Bessin with restaurants, supermarket and excellent Sunday market.  It exceeded our expectations in all ways as the rooms are all spacious, well equipped and characterful and were kept clean and tidy each day by the friendly Amanda. The grounds are just beautiful: majestic trees, sweeping lawns, great patio for al fresco meals and large heated pool.  The on site amenities are so good we didn't need to be going out all the time.  Swimming and table tennis were favourites of our family.  Thibault, the owner was friendly and helpful.  I would highly recommend Chateau d'Argouges.
