While we actually booked La Suite Bibliothèque, after an enquiry to the apartment management we were upgraded to a larger apartment on Petite Rue Tramassac, which is owned by the same group. Tucked away in the heart of Vieux Lyon, the apartment is on the 3rd floor of a restored 15th century building and accessed via an enclosed spiral staircase from a small courtyard just off the street. The location was everything we could have asked for, with plenty to do in the immediate vicinity and a metro station a 5 minute walk away. The apartment consists of a large bedroom / living area, with a small private bathroom and a compact dining area leading to a tiny, but incredibly well-equipped kitchen. A TV is also provided and the free wifi service was excellent throughout our stay. The main living area is dual aspect (though no views) and has a large, very comfortable double bed, a bed-settee and two comfortable armchairs. A huge amount of storage is available in for form of fitted wardrobes with other cupboards and wardrobe containing cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaner and iron / ironing board. The compact bathroom is shower only, with unlimited hot water and plenty of storage though the wash hand basin location was a bit cramped. The minute kitchen was superbly equipped with an oven & hob, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and microwave - and even boasted a dishwasher and washing machine. However, this did mean that preparation surfaces were very limited and the sink was awkward to use - not an issue for most holiday makers, but could be frustrating for longer term guests. While a few of the fixtures and fittings were suffering from wear and tear, and there were also a few blown bulbs, there was still plenty of light and the apartment was very clean and cosy with central heating and a variant of double glazing (two single glazed windows separated by a 6-inch air gap) meant that the apartment retained its heat. Finally, it's worth noting that the best way of contacting the apartments is by texting the number you're provided after you book.
