Maison Notre Dame de la Treille

This is an old hotel in the rue de bourg which no longer serves any meals but the owner lets you have use of a kitchen (microwave, fridge etc) and dining room. There are 2 pleasant patios for an al fresco breakfast or an evening drink. It is about 7 minutes gentle walk to the domaine. The rooms are ok, good beds and plenty of hot water. The family room which sleeps 5 or 6 would be excellent value for a family. The owner is extremely friendly and accommodating, in fact I left some of my clothes there as we are going back in a fortnight and again in October. Next door is a small café/grocery store, across the road is a launderette and an internet café (although free wifi is in the hotel) and again across the road is a quality gift shop where the prices are half what you would pay near the grotto. Inexpensive so do not expect 5 stars but really good value. We are going back twice this year.
