A welcoming, authentic and discreet place. A very good kitchen that reveals the excellence of the chef. Lots of space, games in the garden and wild animals within sight. A beautiful address not to be missed.

A secluded place, quality accommodation and excellent cuisine, a nice stop at a very affordable price.

At the end of a forest alley, Surprise = a Havre of peace in the wild. The owners are very welcoming without blabla and no way. Amélie makes good small menus (we recommend at Breakfast or in Dessert the Brioche like Lost Bread) Outside the horses in the field, we could see (during the full moon and at the moonlight) 2 lays and their offspring  as well as a deer  accompanied by its bears (a real harem 😉). Studio arranged with taste and sobriety. We strongly recommend this address for lovers of nature calm and 😍

Zénitude - Night from 09 to 10/09/2022

My car satnav could not find this place but Google Maps on my iPhone did.  This is a wonderful place to stay.  It is some distance outside of Langeais and down some very narrow roads but it is so tranquil staying here. Amelie is a perfect host and our room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.  We had our evening meal here. Amelie serves whatever has been prepared - there is no menu or carte, just a set meal and our meal was very good; what I would describe as good, farm style home cooking.  We could not believe how quiet it was at Les Machetieres.  We will certainly return.

So Peaceful

Nothing negative. As opposed to the positive, the room, the place, the proprios, the guest table... the studio is large, tastefully decorated and has all the amenities with a kitchens equipped. The place is a dream, in the middle of nature surrounded by forests, a pond with nénuphars where ducks drink, a field where horses come to drink with joy,...... The proprios are super nice and little care for your well-being. As for the guest table, Amelie's culinary talents please us. An excellent quality/price ratio. A 10 out of 10 in all points of view. A place to recommend hesitation. Bravo, continue without hesitation.

A perfect place to be

The setting is great, nature, wildlife, flora. In addition to the guest houses we saw a fox, a deer and its two fairies. A lovely welcoming mare with frogs, ducks and neonphars. A very nice view, the wood and the wooded edge not far away. There is a garden with chairs, benches, tables, sunbathing and a ping pong table, everything you need to relax after several hours on the road. The guests are very welcoming and the studio is very pleasant and very coquettish, lots of space and very good comfort. We slept there very quietly and enjoyed local and homemade products for breakfast. If we go back to the area, we will return to it!

It's too high!

We stayed in a family room with children and grandparents stayed in the double, while travelling through France. Perfect stopover - the house is absolutely stunning, with the beautiful rooms full of gorgeous unique antique furnishings and immaculately presented, Amelie cooked an incredible meal, and it would just a beautiful environment to rest in and be hosted so warmly. Kids could roam free seeing the animals, and lovely seating areas for an evening drink. Can't wait to stay again!

Beautiful setting and wonderful hosts

We wanted to find a nice guest room address in the Langeais area that could also serve a guest table. We were on a bike and we wanted to dine there. What was our discovery! Located in the middle of a green countryside, among various wild and more domesticated animals, whose forest surrounds this very pretty one, the show on arrival is already magnificent and soothing. Then everything else is just like this first impression. A lovely couple welcomed us, our beautiful dining room overlooking the park and the forest via two large rows of glazed terrain, our room was perfectly equipped and cocooning, which breathed the warmth, we often found what the dining room could call the dining room. We could not eat breakfast as soon as we arrived, but we were able to make sure that the dining room was clean and clean, but we were able to make sure that the dining room was clean and clean, and then we were able to enjoy the lovely dining room.

An unforgettable address at every turn....

Looking for a nice guest room around Langeais, we found...The Machetières! How to say......Calm, tranquility, silence, briefly,... THE ideal corner for those who love nature and rest. On the welcome side, Amélie and Stéphane are lovely people, always available and excellent advice for visits around (thanks to Champchevrier). Even the wild boars have visited us in the evening...Unlike the bears who have remained very discreet! impeccable room, crazy breakfast and for the evening meals, let us guide Amélie, you will not regret it! Her guest table is a joy. We will certainly return to discover the region, and it is useless to ask ourselves where to put our real suitcases.

Nature, calmness and serenity

An ideal place for a family stay and to discover the castles of the Loire and the Cadre Noir de Saumur. Home and great availability of Stéphane and Amélie. Charles the son of the house shared his passion for horses, ducks etc. A delicious and copious guest table, worthy of great restaurants. Map breakfast, fabulous and homemade. My young son (6 years old) has taken the recipe of the herb crust and made it for his father. Too proud😉 In the evening at aperitif time, you can see the boars, the bears and the chefs from the dining room. I highly recommend your address. Thank you to Amelie and Stéphane for this stay from whoever returns.

To find out

If you travel by car visiting Loire Valley , and the Castles of Loire, "Le Machetieres"  is a perfect place to stay. In the middle of the Loire Valley, not so far from Tours and only 5 km from Chateau de Langeais , you can live for few days in a quite place surrounded by nature, where you can hear only the birds. We rented the studio, where you have the feeling you sleep in a old castle attic. Very nice bed and nicely arranged, with a small kitchenette, fridge, microwave , air conditioning and a very nice bathroom . The hosts are very nice , friendly and ready to give you details and advises about the castles in the area or other museums. M'me Amelie is preparing a nice french breakfast , with yogurt and jam home made. She can also cook dinner on request.
We had the chance to see stags and many deer , as Stephan is feeding them with apples on the property. 
Except the studio, one more room with private bathroom is available.
