we stayed here for 2 weeks in Le Hibou. The most relaxing holiday we've ever had!! We had plans to go out & about but the pool & gite were so fabulous we thought why move? Well appointed gite with everything you need,in the middle of beautiful countryside but only 5 mins to local village. Rowan & Laura are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Hope to return one day.

totally relaxing holiday

From the very first email from Laura we knew we wanted to have our wedding at Le Moulin. We got married there last September and it was the best time of our lives, having a week at the Moulin with our closest family and friends. Laura and Rowan were absolutely amazing throughout the whole planning process, nothing was too much trouble and they really went above and beyond, with regular updates and communication. We have now stayed at Le Moulin four times and each time we’ve been there we’ve had the best time; it really is our home from home now!
The wedding day went without a hitch and Laura and Rowan made sure everything ran to time and smoothly! We just got to enjoy the best day of our lives with our family and friends, and didn’t have to worry about a thing. Laura was great with sourcing and dealing with suppliers for us, therefore removing the obvious language barrier we had with not speaking French!
If you are considering booking your wedding here, or a holiday, I can’t recommend it enough. You will have the best time with the most amazing hosts. All the little extras are so cute and make you feel right at home, everything from the wonderful welcome hamper, through to fresh eggs in the mornings and great local recommendations. The most wonderful holiday and Wedding venue!

We stayed in July 2019 for a family wedding. Rowan and Laura are the prefect hosts. So welcoming and friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble. The accommodation is wonderful, immaculate and decorated with the most attention to detail. We had an amazing stay, I couldn’t recommend Le Moulin de Chazotte highly enough. It’s perfect. Thanks for a trip that we’ll cherish forever!

Absolutely Perfect 👌

I booked this place for my 30th birthday and it was amazing. Laura and Rowan are brilliant hosts, already via emails exchanges before the event, and of course during the entire weekend. 
The place is beautiful, they put welcome baskets and even a birthday cake for our arrival (which was delicious). 
The pool is great, each house is comfortable and so beautiful, and our hosts are very helpful with anything we needed. The barn, where the party took place, is large enough, well equiped and beautifully decorated too. 
Everything was perfect, I had the best weekend at the Moulin de Chazotte.

a perfect family-friendly weekend

Incredible location, Laura and Rowan really have created a wonderful experience in this picturesque area of France. The pool is great for children, and the children loved collecting eggs each morning, keenly supported by the dogs Remy and Martel. The welcome basket was excellent, the property was very clean and remains true to its French charm. Cognac isn’t far for amenities and the area is a dream for a evening cycle or walk. We will be back one day to see how Laura and Rowan have developed the site further. Absolutely perfect for families, highly recommended.

Home from home, idyllic French countryside

I highly recommend the Chazotte Moulin to any couple or family who are looking for a place to spend a quiet vacation at their own pace (very independently) where they can be completely self-sufficient (super equipped kitchen...) while enjoying the welcome of super friendly guests and the amenities offered by this hostel: pool, ping pong, board games, river, garden... Ideal for a couple who wants to spend time alone, live at their own pace (very independently) where they can enjoy a few meals in a fully self-sufficient kitchen (super equipped kitchen...) while enjoying the welcome of super friendly guests and the amenities offered by this hostel: pool, ping pong, board games, river, garden... A week of complete calm

We wanted to visit the Romanesque churches in the Saintonge and look for a good starting point near Cognac. We happened to find the Moulin de Chazotte on the Internet and thought that if the holiday apartments were only half as good as the announcements on the website, they would be wonderful. They even exceeded our expectations. The former mill is lovingly rebuilt and preserves its historical charm. The apartment was extremely clean and very well equipped. And it had enough space for both our grown sons and we to stand on our feet even in a rainy day. The lovely surroundings made of chalets and sunflowers make for spa gardens, swimming pools, and a swimming pool. And then you know that the surrounding area is very exciting, because the surroundings of the Mountains and the surroundings of this beautiful town are always surrounded by springs and vineyards.

A wonderful stay

Laura and Rowan are outstanding for their kindness and sense of hospitality. Their lodging in the Cognac vineyards is very pleasant. Everything is made to feel at home and the reception is perfect. The pool is very pleasant. An address to recommend. The only improvement could be the mastery of the French language to facilitate contact with people who don't speak English at all

A perfect stay in a very beautiful Gite

We stayed here for three nights because we had a wedding in the area: two families and seven children (including a baby). Jane and Bob were very hospitable and their accommodations are full, convenient and pleasant.

It's a great place to relax.

A river flows through the property surrounded by sunflower fields and vineyards, providing an excellent getaway point for a car tour of the area or, as some families have done... relaxing by the pool, doing ping-pong, canoeing or cycling. For almost the entire week we stayed (in August) temperatures reached 30°C, so the shaded beaches offered by both restaurants were more than welcome. Bob and Jane were teenagers and families living on a nice terrace and also available for the smallest of families, in question of hotels. We have also made the holidays with other groups... but the best place to go is in Calabria.
