Residence de tourisme  MARE E SOLE

This is already our second time in Mare e Sole.The location near Bastia is perfect, you can walk to the beach (10 minutes). The accomodation is clean with a dishwasher and washing machine. It is very quiet. The swimmingpool is perfect with enough chairs to relax. The highlight is the Corsican Evening on Wednesday! The owners are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely  not the last time. Perfect for families. 

Just returned from 2 weeks here with a family of 9. We had a wonderful time. The Mare is perfect for families with a lovely setting where everyone has some space among the very nice, lush grounds. 

We loved the pool, which is large, clean and never overly busy. The kids loved the diving board.

The staff were always friendly and helpful.

The beach is short walk away and was always quiet and clean being swept a few times a week.  The water was warm and clear, though it is not one of the blue water beaches found elsewhere on the island. Make sure you have umbrellas as there is no natural shade.

A short drive south away is the Marian Plage which has a few eateries, jet ski hire and is a bit more vibrant. 

A few small things could be improved, the beds are quite short so tall people may struggle.  Our apartment (slept 9) could do with some sound dampening, the cupboard doors bang shut and the door handles squeaked loudly. Paying €8 an hour for tennis seems a bit much, especially if you want to play each morning for the 2 weeks.  Keep in mind too that laundry, towels and cleaning at end of stay are all extra costs.

But these are niggles.  The resorts is wonderful, quiet, child friendly, well located and beautifully maintained.

We stayed for two weeks at this small scale resort (30 houses) and experienced its staff, surroundings and general atmosphere as absolutely great.
Houses were clean, well equipped and offering enough privacy whilst all facilities and greenery were well kept. Marie Antoinette and Thomas (staff) take on a discrete yet helpful and informative style and make sure that all is taken care off.
The resort as such is located in the northern part of Corsica, making it a base to discover Cap Corse, Bastia and (more inland) Corte and Cervione.

This was our second visit to this lovely family friendly residence.
This time we were a larger party of 26 staying in two of the large houses and one of the smaller units.
The experience was as welcoming and enjoyable once again the houses clean and spotless and the grounds extremely well kept and maintained.
The weekly Corsican music evenings are great with everyone staying there encouraged to join in on the dance floor after some suitable fuelling of the local red wine cocktail. Once again many thanks to Marie Antionette and her wonderful staff for a brilliant holiday..

I would definitely recommend this place for a family stay. The accommodation is nice, clean and safe for children. The area well maintained and nicely designed so people get their privacy despite of terraced building type. The biggest attraction for our children was the swimming pool. The place is nicely hidden and away from the main road however it takes only 10 minutes to two different local villages with supermarket and restaurants.The sandy beach is about 10 minutes walking distance and has got a fairly big area of shallow water for kids so they can play safely. The location on the island is quite an advantage as it doesn't take long to get to other parts of Corsica if wish to visit south or the west side.

We were a large family group staying here for two weeks in August.
The accommodation is spotless and well appointed if you require anything the helpful reception staff will help out where they can
The grounds are large and spacious with lots of safe play area for the children to play and a very safe swimming pool area an added bonus being the fact that the complex main gate  is also secured in the evening.
The weekly Corsican evening is a great way to meet your fellow vacationers if you wish and the home made sangria punch certainly helps.
The residence is literally a 6 or 7 min walk to the beach on very quiet road or through country path
Only downside was bedrooms would benefit from air conditioning or fans.
