Having visited Die for 15 years this was a place we had always wanted to stay (but had a family property nearby). When we left the ferry we though we would stay en route but just kept going, telephoned on the way, and arrived late afternoon we stayed for two nights. The room was basic but had everything you would need and was immaculately clean. The owners were very welcoming and considerate. The greatest surprise was the cooking. The food was the best we had eaten in this area in all the time we had visited this area. How I wish I had known it earlier. The menu was balanced and creative. The cooking was perfection. The pace of service was easy but attentive. The house wine by the carafe was local and good. All of this sat on plastic chairs in the garden. Spectacular and well worth a visit.
