Montanita Cabanas

Perfect place to chill and relax in montañita. The cabañas are a great place and the people are very friendly. Its very organized and safe. When i come back i will go another time to the cabañas. Join also the montañita spanish school!

Very clean. Ronny, Faviola, Jasmin and staff are great hosts. A very safe feeling with a locking gate and guard at night. Nice room which was cleaned almost every day. Well maintained and a comfortable feel. Very nice to hang out with other travelers. comunal kitched was always clean. Bring ear plugs the hostal next door was a bit noisy but not a real problem.

We stayed in the Cabanas for 5 weeks during our Spanish classes. It's very clean, well mantained and last but not least the staff is the best you can find in the whole of Montanita. Thank you Ronnie, Pancho, Fabi & Co. for being helpful and patient with our Spanish skills. 

Everything is within walking distance, but you still can walk easily to the city centre and enjoy the nightlife there. The facilities are good and the staff is very nice. It's like a nice and peaceful oasis.

My daughters and I recently spent two weeks at the cabanas while we attended Montañita Spanish school and enjoyed ourselves on the beach. I would recommend the cabanas without hesitation! The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a private cabana with a small kitchen, but we often ate at the long table in the common area. Everyone that stayed there was exceptionally outgoing and friendly with all three of us.
All of the cabanas open onto the garden/pool area and there are dozens of hammocks scattered about. Weather we were playing volleyball in the pool, socializing with other guests/students or just relaxing with a book in one of the hammocks everything was perfect.
The location of the cabanas was a nice balance between the hustle and busked of town and the quieter neighborhoods at the edges. The beach, downtown and the school were all within easy walking distance and my daughters felt comfortable walking around on their own immediately. Everyone we met was extremely friendly. Right next door is a small market with a decent selection of food, drink and produce staples. There is also a small food stand with a couple of sidewalk tables and someone always willing to play chess. A couple hundred meters away is downtown featuring “breakfast ally” (a cluster of stands with pancakes, waffles, crepes and omelets - major hit with the kids) as well as a “cocktail ally” for the adults. There are also dozens of great (and affordable) restaurants and bars all of which bent over backwards to provide excellent service.
As with any tropical beach town, don’t expect complete silence inside your room at all times. But when the lights went out in the common area, at 11, and anyone that was interested moved downtown things got pretty quiet. The girls and I enjoyed ourselves enough that we never had trouble getting to sleep.
We had a blast in Montanita and would love to stay at the cabanas again someday!

absolutely loved everything about the cabanas!!!! the people, the location, the rooms were all fantastic.I would defiantly recommend staying here for your time in montanita. It is also a great place to stay even if you are not studying spanish as all the people are friendly and welcoming

A great accommodation a short walk from the town. The pool and jacuzzi is a nice touch and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean. Even though it was a bit cold / cloudy during our stay, getting into the jacuzzi was lovely (owner will turn this on to heat up before using). We stayed in a double room with en suite and it was spacious with a fan and mosquito net. Plenty of hammocks and lounging space in communal areas too. It was really nice to stay somewhere peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle. We couldn’t speak much Spanish but able to communicate with the friendly owner and staff running the place. The kitchen area is spacious with a large wooden dining table to play games, read books etc. This was a hidden gem and I imagine when the suns out, it’s even better! 

Although Montañita is loud and busy, the Cabañas were quiet. It’s perfect to sozialize as people stay there for minimum a week and you spend more time with people you like. The pool and jacuzzi are clean and the staff is really friendly. They are more like a family than normal staff. I really enjoyed my time there.
The only negative things:The kitchen is well equipped but like any other common area kitchen it’s dirty. And the Hostel next to it sometimes has loud party nights you hear from some of the rooms (not from every room). 

If you want a more tranquil place to stay in Montanita, stay here! Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice pool and hot tub.  Great having a communal kitchen and fridge to store food items. Highly recommended.

This hostel had everything you wanted and a little more. Pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, even a slack line! Beautiful atmosphere and good location, just a few minutes from the center. Also very nice staff. Recommended!

After staying at the Montañita Cabañas for almost 2 months for learning Spanish in the nearby school, this lovely place feels really like home to me. My room which I shared with 2 other friends was very clean for Ecuadorian standards, the bed comfortable and the shower has warm water. The staff overall was really helpful, but we could find the cleaning staff very often though, it would have been nicer to have them around more available. Also on the weekends the Wifi gets slow sometimes.

fantastic!!!!

Great time staying at the cabanas! Clean rooms, hot showers, great location. Very noisy hostel next door unfortunately.  Was  great having a pool and shared area for games and hanging out. Would absolutely stay again!
