Hotel Capri

Good: The tenants, David and Sabrina are really genuine hosts, who can’t do enough to help. On day, they drove me to their beach property in the morning and picked me up late afternoon. Then, the next day dropped me off at their condo where I walked back into town via a few places I wanted to visit. The room is tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed and cleaned each day. There’s a large screen TV showing several good films and documentaries. With an excellent restaurant next door called Chori Pan you don’t have to look far for quality food at a great price, or you can even opt for a take-away. This hotel provides good value for money and you’ll struggle to find better hosts! Bad: The power occasionally fails (which isn’t uncommon in DR) but David’s backup system keeps essential comforts such as wi-fi, TV and the fan going. The shower was cold but refreshing, which is down to the owner refusing to replace the boiler. The road nearby is very noisy from “modified” motorcycles but all goes quiet after 11pm. NB. There’s a negative review of this hotel made by someone with no credibility because they never stayed there, but you decide, bearing in mind my TripAdvisor rating!
