Villas Las Neblinas

Villas Las Neblinas is a complex of log houses (currently five, of different sizes). Each villa will accomodate between 4 to 6 guests, or more, excepting the biggest villa, which can be used by 16 guests. We were told that the property is located in a place called Arroyo Prieto or Las Palmas, belonging to Constanza municipality. The site of the property is perched high on a hill, resulting in beautiful views all around. The climate in all Constanza is template. During the day we took our light jackets and sweters with us, and used them most of the time. At night it was mandatory! Brrr! There is fog sometimes, and when it rains it is not hard, mostly a light drizzle. Of course, it gets chillier when raining. We love the temperature here! I visited with my family. We are four, including two teenagers. We stayed in villa Neblinas 3. The area for living room, dining room and kitchen is the same one and spacious. The kitchen has everything and more, necessary to prepare meals: gas stove with oven, refrigerator with freezer, liquifier, toaster (grill), microwave oven, cups, plates, cutlery, pans, pots,, matches, dishwashing detergent, and many others.There is a mini component for music, even with some cds. There is no air conditioning, but none was needed for our stay! Our villa had two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There is a TV with cable in one of the bedrooms, and also a fan (we did not use it, because at night it was chilly!). There is one bathroom, with basic toiletries (some bars of soap and toilet paper). There is a brick chimney in the living room, and we thought the furniture and decoration was perfect for the environment of a country villa: sturdy furniture with simple desiigns and good taste. There are many glass windows, offering great views, but the really magnificent views are from the long balcony at the back of the villa. Such a terrific landscape, that I had to think of how thoughtful it was for the property to add rocking chairs to that balcony! At the front of the villa there is a little porch, with a rocking chair too. The sense of peace and quiet in this villa is the biggest one my family has ever experienced in all the places we have vacationed before. The breakfast is included in the price, and served at 9 am. It is a typical Dominican breakfast, with choice of plantain mangú, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs with or without vegetables, fried salami or cheese, Also natural fruit juice, milk and lots of hot, delicious Dominican coffee. If you need anything else, or something different for breakfast, you just have to let the property know beforehand. Breakfast is served in the common Dining Room. You can have lunch or dinner (for a price), served in the Dining Room or at your villa. The property must be advised in advance of your choice of food for these meals,better if it is before your arrival, If not, the variety of foods for each meal is very limited. For example, our first night we chose to dine at the property, We had spaguetti in red sauce (very well seasoned, mmm!), grouper fish fillet (mero) in white sauce, potato and plantain fritters. We advised our decision to dine here just one hour before... The food was delicious nonetheless. The next night we thought that we wouldn´t be on time for dinner, at the end of our adventure trip around Constanza. Well, we ended ordering diner again, one hour before. We had the same choice of food. The staff is corteous, professional and very accomodating. They treated us very well, and did all in their power to make us feel welcome and happy. Villas Las Neblinas was a good base for us, because from there we visited the center of Constanza (and marvelled at the variety of vegetables that grow there, and beautiful flowers too, strawberries of course!). Places like Arroyo Frío and El Tireo Valley are around 20 minutes away by car. From Constanza center we went to visit Salto de Aguas Blancas, a beautiful cascade. The path to this cascade is a great adventure, as it is a dirt, bumpy path with magnificent views (12 kilometers). Also Valle Nuevo can be visited from Constanza Center (32 kilometers of dirt, bumpy road). It is strongly advised to visit Salto de Aguas Blancas and Valle Nuevo with all terrain vehicles. We saw along the way many people on four wheels and motorcycles. We were told that the property could help us arrange a trip to any of these places, in all terrain vehicles. We had ours, so we went around on our own. We stayed for two nights, but wished we had one or two more nights. For more adventure, this trip can be combined with a visit to Jarabacoa, about 30 to 1 hour away.
