Riva Suite 1

My wife and I went to Korcula for 10 days for our honeymoon, when we got there our Air B&B host told us as it was off season only 1 restaurant in the area was open, we were a bit worried but from the first night we ate at Riva 1 until the last it was nothing less than perfect each time! I am a chef and have been in the industry for 20 years and can honestly say it was one of my favourite restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. We went several times over the 10 day holiday and every time Danny produced some of the tastiest, freshest fish dishes I've ever enjoyed. Tuna Carpaccio, sardines, squid, prawns, Swordfish, Tuna salad, Shark and chips with homemade tartare, lobster soup, a Bouillabaisse with a twist consisting of a whole Red Roman, a whole lobster, scallops, prawns, mussels and homemade macaroni! It was unbelievable! We had a beautiful olive infused tomahawk steak one of the evenings, it was so tender and tasty! The crepes with rum flambé bananas were delicious. I wish I knew how to spell our host's name (I'm so sorry!) but she was such a funny and friendly person and the service was excellent every time! They both went above and beyond and were so helpful with advice for driving, ferries etc I couldn't thank them enough. If we ever return to Korcula this will definitely be the first place we go to! Glad it was the only restaurant open!
