You could not ask for better staff, honestly. Everything felt safe and secure here and the room was exactly what I needed so that I could be near the airport for my flight.

Absolutely loved staying here. The entire staff was extremely friendly and wonderful. The breakfast was also delicious. The place was also gorgeous and the room was clean and spacious. 1000/10 recommend

The staff was very kind and accommodating to my late arrival. The property is secure behind a gate. The courtyard is lush and offers space to gather. The walls and windows do allow for transfer of sound, but everything was quiet a bit 10:30 pm. I slept well, had a good breakfast and shower. I would stay at this property again, especially when coming through San Jose on to other destinations. Of note, I did use the provided fan, but I don’t think there is an air conditioner.

If you want fine accommodation for short time for very reasonable price, this is right place. Don’t expect luxury accommodation with high quality services. Hotel has very nice staff. We had some issue with the room, the owner offered us the new room, what was better. Condition of the hotel is OK, cleanliness is also OK. What could be better is the shower, it didn’t work well. We had to decide higher pressure or higher temperature. Don’t expect so much from the breakfast, are simple, but the hotel is cheap!

You’ll get what you pay for

This was where I stayed for my first few nights when I arrived in San Jose, and it was a welcome respite to the bustling city!The view below is the shared garden area between all of the rooms, which I unfortunately did not have time to enjoy because of the rain.My room was on the first floor, and had a comfy bed, a space to do some work, a TV (I didn't use), and a safe, which was great. In the morning, during the included breakfast, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, and there were some other chatty guests to connect with.Overall, a good spot to stay!

Sweet spot in San Jose!

Adjoining the two-story bank of rooms and the lobby/breakfast-dining-tables is a dense jungle where tropical birds chirp. An attractive setting. My single-bed room could have been brighter with stronger light bulbs, but when I requested a lamp to see my laptop keyboard, the desk clerk quickly and cheerfully supplied one. I probably should have asked for a wash cloth for showering, but that's a basic necessity. The bathroom-sink faucet had little pressure and the shower water was barely lukewarm or cooler; but those can be expected in  quite inexpensive lodging. I asked for a paper cup to drink my wine, and a wine glass was readily provided. Every one of the staff members couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. They even supplied me with an umbrella each time I ventured into the rain for food.

We loved it here. This was the last stop before we were heading back home so we just needed a place to stay for 2 nights. Unexpectedly my favourite accommodation of our entire trip. Host was very kind and helpful, he designed the entire place himself. You can tell he put a lot of thought and care into the place. Close proximity to the airport, AC was working, fast wifi, water pressure in the sink and shower were great. They had 2 parking spots but we were able to park on the street and it always felt safe especially with security watching over. Close to restaurants as well, I would stay here again next time I’m in the area.

A really nice place to stay, with very personable and helpful staff, especially for both the economical rate, and the convenient location relative to the US Embassy (for those who have appointments or business there). It's also a short drive to a huge Multi-Plaza Mall, the CIMA Hospital, the National Stadium at La Sabana Park, and other important places. Very comfortable beds, great bathroom facilities, and nice dining area and garden, fish and turtle pond, etc. Not perfect . . . but almost :)  Overall an exceptional value for a B&B.

We loved this place once we got inside. Alex the host was very friendly and helpful. It was basic, but clean and very reasonable. The garden was lovely and the breakfast was well presented and delicious. For a full made to order breakfast there is an additional charge. So good for the small price. Just try not to get there after dark.

Really delightful place with good pricing and courteous service. The breakfast is served in the front cafe area similarly to a restaurant and the garden in the open air courtyard takes you out of the city mentality and gives a lovely jungle space, with the addition of a bird enclosure that lets you experience the feeling of nature as you wake to the chorus of their songs.

Urban jungle

Case Lima B&B is a hidden gem within the city of San Jose. The tranquil environment created here is second to none. Having breakfast with waterfall sounds in the background along with the tropical plants is serene. Nelson is a phenomenal host who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience in Costa Rica. That's not coming from an inexperienced traveler. I have been traveling for over 20 years, 5 continents, and over 10 countries with multiple visits to many. This place exceeded all my expectations and I can see how this business is thriving and will only do better in the future. My mobility scooter was damaged by the airline while coming to Costa Rica and it was a big issue, to say the least. My wife and I tried to find tools and such on our own but had no luck. After talking to Nelson about it, he took it upon himself and proceeded to fix it during our breakfast no less. During our breakfast, of the best banana pancakes we have ever had in our lives, he succeeded with the scooter. The scooter was running and he did an amazing job of securing things to make sure it didn't happen again. It was never his problem and he would have been an incredible host without doing so, but he still went out of his way for us. He saved our trip in more ways than one. We will definitely stay again and even if they were full we would visit just to see him, the amazing lobby, and to have breakfast. I would recommend 10 out of 10 to anyone.

This place was better than expected! The courtyard is a nice place to hang out to do the organisation part of travel. Breakfast was simple but tasty, fresh fruit, some bread and butter and coffee. The family room was nice, gave us space, with comfortable beds. The only issue I had with the place was our shower had very little water pressure, or heat, but this appears common for the heat on demand showerhead I am commonly seeing in Costa Rica.
