Second year staying here. Love the staff. Feel safe allowing kids (age 8&11) walk around unsupervised. Free breakfast is delicious! Beach out front is a treat and the pool is great to cool off. Close by to other options to eat and central location to excursions. Thanks Fuego del Sol!!

A lovely first night in Costa Rica. The hotel is literally on the beach front. The sound of the waves crashing was nice and it was like I was in my own personal sleep sounds app. I stayed in the best room - 201. Upstairs, facing the beach. 2 balconies. Room is bare, but has coffee machine and a bed, and that’s all I needed! Dinner was nice, as was the breakfast. The beach is ace. I stayed here just for the black sand.

We liked our room, it was spacious, had a fridge and comfy beds. The pool was clean amd relaxing with warm water. Not crowded.  The beach is beautiful but waves were really strong...definitely not for swimming with kids. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast was not the buffet but overall filling. Birds as anywhere in Costa Rica were entertaining... especially a flock of macaws in a jungle area across the small street. I would return here again.

I enjoyed everything. It is an amazing place to have a good time. The staff is excellent. The breakfast very nice.

Beachside accommodations that blended seamlessly with the natural beauty of the beach. The restaurant had a great menu and was reasonably priced.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Fuego del Sol! The staff was so kind, friendly, and helpful! We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. Our room was cleaned daily! The pool area was great and the food and service amazing! We would definitely stay here again!

Wow, we unexpectedly had a 2 bedroom with full kitchen, and 2 tables with seating for 4. All rooms have views and the hotel is on the sand. It has a nice pool and good restaurant.

Perfect location

From the minute we got there, the staff was friendly and helpful. The pool and restaurant were wonderful and the beach was very nice. The room was clean and functional and had a great view. The one thing that could have improved our stay was a small refrigerator or ice machine (the restaurant didn't have ice to spare, but there is a store nearby that had a ice).We would definitely stay here again.

I ended up renting a room here due to the so called resort next door Marea Brava was unsafe and unsanitary. Hotel Fuego was in walking distance. I walked over and rented a room for two nights. The room was very clean. Wi-Fi was provided. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Do not stay at Marea Brava next door it is awful compared to this place. Which I highly recommend.

Clean safe and affordable!

This was a great hotel. It was clean and roomy. The pool was gorgeous. The restaurant was fast and served great food and drinks. It is right on the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach in the mornings. We also saw several tropical birds, including the scarlet macaw in the trees across the street. There were at least 4 macaws in the trees. It was amazing!  It’s also a very short drive to Carara National Park (20-30 minutes), where we hiked and saw monkeys, a poison dark frog, scarlet macaws, agoutis, and several other birds and iguanas. Also, the manager was very helpful, friendly, and attentive.

we were very happy with the hotel,  the room was very clean, pool was great, we had lunch in the restaurant overlooking the sea.  the staff was very friendly and professional.  this one of the nicest hotel that we have stayed in the two weeks in Costa Roca.   i would recommend it. there was a restaurant 5 minutes away called Animal, that was also an excellent place comfortable and

We had a four night stay and enjoyed every minute of it! The grounds are clean and beautiful. As soon as you walk around and see the beach, restaurant and nice pool, you’ll realize you lucked out because some of the nearby hotels aren’t as nice. The restaurant served a really nice free breakfast and everything we had there was delicious - the chicken nachos, shrimp rice, mussels , and mahi mahi were favorites. Ramona makes a great Bloody Mary and Miguel was always wonderful. The beach has the dark sand and massive waves, with a no swimming rule to keep people safe. If you walk down the beach, you’ll see people surfing and some beach bars and restaurants that have great food and drinks. I loved walking along the shoreline and found some cool rocks and even a sand dollar! Another great perk- there’s a great restaurant at the top of the street you can walk to in less than 5 minutes. Most important to mention- this place is quiet and totally chill. It wouldn’t be for party people or people with young children. There were a variety of ages but definitely geared more towards couples/adults. I

This place is an absolute paradise!

We (daughter, friend and I) had a wonderful long weekend at Hotel Fuego del Sol. The location is fantastic, right on the beach, the rooms are large, very comfortable and clean, with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The AC works great (thank goodness, as it was very hot when we were there!). We spent time in the lovely hotel pool and ate our dinners at the hotel restaurant, which has a very nice menu and generous portions. The free breakfasts were pretty good. I understand the hotel was renovated within the last year or so and they did a great job with it -- past reviews of the hotel are irrelevant to how it is today!

Excellent!

We can’t say enough good things about this place. It was newly renovated, we were in a room directly on the beach with a patio over looking the beach and the sea. It was a dream location. The beach and sea are right there for swimming & sun bathing.The staff are really friendly with a shoutout going to Eric, Alan & Angela who patiently helped us navigate SIM cards, places to visit and pretty much any requests. We really appreciated the great conversations too. One thing to note is there is no fridge or coffee maker in the rooms but we were told these will be comming.Highly recommend and take no notice of the bad reviews many months ago as the hotel is under new ownership and has been renovated. Thankfully we read the review that mentioned this or we would have missed out on a real gem !! We will be back !

Ignore the negative reviews. They are from years ago before the hotel was torn down. This place is BRAND NEW!! I can't say enough positives about this hotel. Rooms are beautiful with great A/C, comfortable beds, and lovely decks. Location is right on the beach where the restaurant serves amazing food. The staff were the best - very helpful and accomodating. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!!
