Hotel America is not a high end Luxury resort, but the value for your money is very good. Nancy and George (behind the desk most days) are very helpful and speak good english. They can be very helpful with transportion, or any problem you encounter with travel. The local neighborhood in the area is beautiful, and convenient for all types of transportation (train, buses , Taxis). The casino is right next door if you like that sort of thing. There are grocery stores and resturants everywhere. I find this hotel a very convient location for a "home base" when spending time in Costa Rica.
