La Fortuna Lodge

This was in between a hostel and a high end resort which was exactly what I wanted.  Gated and staffed 24/7 with great connection to local food and tours.  Room overlooked Arenal and got great pics from my balcony.

Small boutique hotel with very good amenities, staff was very helpful and accommodative, they were friendly and cordial, they go above and beyond your expectation in accommodating us and making our stay delightful. I would recommend this place to those who visit La Fortuna.

This was a great spot close enough to everything for it to be walkable but still quiet. Being right in La Fortuna, all of our tours were able to pick us up straight from the hotel. What really set it apart was the staff, particularly Daniel! He really was a phenomenal and warm host and made our stay special. He gave us great recommendations for everything from tours to hot springs to dining and he was just a joy to talk with. Even though we didn't have a view to Arenal, we had a great and clean room, and the big shared covered patio with recliners and a lovely view was wonderful. Just because I look for this in reviews, the beds are pretty firm, but it was like that literally everywhere we stayed in Costa Rica. The galle pinto breakfast was good! It was pretty clutch for those early morning tours- although we did get a little tired of it every day, and was recommended breakfast at Café Raúl Castaño which had some of our favorite food the whole trip (Jalapas was also amazing, highly recommend). We would definitely stay here again.

Beyond helpful staff, beautiful view of the volcano, yummy breakfast, clean and cozy rooms and great location.

Great location, clean property, loved the breakfast and lounge patio areas. Service was great and reception helped us with everything from a hair dryer to restaurant recommendations and excursion booking.

There are nice common areas to sit, they offer a good breakfast, water and ice. This is the first hotel we have stayed at in Costa Rica that had water available and bottled water starts to add up. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We were able to check in early and they stored our luggage after we checked out.

The reception was very good and helpful. Our room was very nice and comfortable. It was nice to have a little porch outside our room. The grounds were very pretty. Breakfast was simple but very good.

Really enjoyed my stay. It was my first time solo traveling and I picked a spot central in the town of La Fortuna. This lodge is close to many great restaurants and it’s in a quiet neighborhood. I felt safe in knowing there was a buzzer needed to get into the building. The reception is very helpful and communicative. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends ☺️.

We appreciated the walk ability to just about everywhere in La Fortuna. Did a few tours through the front desk and they were excellent. The top terrace was a nice place to hang out in the evenings for a quiet drink. Breakfast was quite good, nice to have fresh fruit, and coffee available as well. Not 5 star but perfect for our needs.

Central, walkable, clean, affordable

Great location in walking distance to the town center. I had a spacious, bright and well thought out room on the upper floor with spectacular vulcano view from my balcony!Staff was amazing...Mariela and Keyna were always smiling and super helpful!I used Uber to get around...very convenient if you don't want to rent a car!Would stay there again without hesitation!Pura Vida!

The lodge has a great location, but the strongest point is the staff. They are always willing to help with recommendations, contacts and services. The staff looks for options to make your stay more comfortable. For example, we arrive to the location before check in time and they allowed us to to early check in, also provide some contacts and suggestions for the tours.

Excellent service from staff. Clean and new facilities and property. Breakfast was delicious and you can choose amongst any 4 options. It’s close enough to Arenal that you can get to places like Mistico in 30 minutes but far enough away that you can actually take in the spectacular view of the volcano from all over the city. Loves our stay here.

Amazing hotel!! There are beautiful views of the volcano from this hotel! The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is great. Staff are extremely kind and helpful. We had a miscommunication with a tour pickup and staff helped us call the tour and figure things out. Staff truly went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing experience! 10/10 would stay again and again

From check-in to check-out and everything in between the staff was awesome. We stayed in Room 17, the room is a little on the small size with a double bed but we made it work. Room was clean and fresh. Breakfast is not buffet style, it is made to order. You have to place your order the night before. There are about 3 to 4 breakfast options. I would definitely stay here again just in a larger room with a Queen or King bed.

Carlos greeted us and was very polite, friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated with lots of sitting areas. our room was clean and comfortable. We had a great view of the Arenal volcano from our balcony. The room has ac and ceiling fan and quiet. Walking distance to restaurants and shops yet the hotel is tucked away from traffic noise. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety to choose from. We will definitely return to La Fortuna! Lodge!
