This small hotel is held in the french colonial style and decorated with exceptional care for details, something I don't often see executed this lovingly in China. The bathrooms are clean and modern, the furniture pieces are often real antiques and the staff is courteous and thoughtful. It is located right near Fuxing Road, where you will find a lot of tree-ligned alleys, bars and cafes, a starbucks and convenience stores. For those not local to Shanghai I'd recommend this area as it's easily the most beautiful and desirable part for foreigners to live in, whereas the Bund is a one-time touristy thing.
