I enjoyed a lot so lovely nice and elegant hotel I m addicted to anantara seriece.
Nice massage treatement and  traditional hammam .
Excellent hospitality and I like the architect design which make u relaxed and release Ur tension .
I love the swimming pool design and water is heated even outside little cold but water is so nice.

This is a smallish, as high-rises go, and somewhat older, as Chinese high-rises go, hotel near the eastern beaches, on the landward edge of the commercial area, where residential and commercial land use starts to mix.

The basic information on this hotel is rather hard to find.  The actual Chinese name is 东方航空大厦,　DongFang HangKong DaXia, "Eastern Airlines High-Rise", but they usually use a traditional character for dong/"east" which I can't type on my machine but it looks sort of like a guo "fruit"（果）with an extra horizontal stroke on top.  It is,in fact, operating under the same brand as the eponymous airline, which also has a ticket office here.  The address is 地址:青岛燕儿道路16号, Yanr DaoLu ShiLiu Hao, "16 Swallow-chick Road".

I wanted to stay at the Crowne Plaza (which is across the street) but they were booked out, so I gave this place a try.  I certainly can't complain about the price, about $45 a night.  The room was clean and the fixtures rather nice, but the space was  tight and I had trouble maneuvering  my luggage.  No water bottles were given but you can take them out of the mini-bar for about $1.  The mattress was hard even by Chinese standards.  The hotel was under construction so the weight room and other facilities were unavailable.  The lobby and elevator areas are also impacted by construction.

The location is as nice as it gets.  It is not for nothing that the ex-pats I know live in this area.  There are plenty of nice shops and restaurants.  The beach is close by.  ATM's are nearby.  A 7-floor shopping mall is caty-corner from here.  The Olympic sailing facility is a 10 minute stroll.    

The internet connection did not work initially, but was fixed when I asked.  Ping times to the US were 300 ms.  Pings within China were under 40 ms.  That's about average, and is a bit slow but useable.  

The breakfast buffet, about $5, offered a reasonable assortment of Oriental foods.  No Western style food was offered, not even cereal, nor, for that matter, forks.     If you don't like it go to McDonald's around the corner.

I think I shall use this hotel next time.  If I buy a month membership at one of the two nearby gyms (one at the top of the mall and another, the Sunnyfit, a block to the north), the result is still cheaper than two *days* at the Shangri-la.  Oh, and upgrade to the larger size room for sure.

I give this hotel its above average rating mostly on its price and the strength of its location.   It is well suited to the Olympics-going crowd (hence the construction).
I should emphasize, however, that it is not the best choice for Westerners who need a full spectrum of services to help them in an unfamilliar environment.

Affordable, good location, but under construction

Nothing special, but also no problems with this hotel.  I've stayed here 3 times the first was in a standard room.  I'd recommend upgrading to a deluxe as you'll have a much better stay.  I didn't eat at the hotel, but there are many food options within walking distance.
