43 reviewsSurprise surprise . . . no frills, single room with large super comfy bed on low 5th floor, strong workable shower, clean by local hotel standards, free, uncomplicated and fast wi-fi. Enroll as a Vienna member, the rate becomes even lower including breakfast, which is not yummy but enough to get going. Real upside - location, close to Louhu, free parking (which is a challenge as you have to get in at the right time to find a space and is also the ultimate test of parking skills), enthusiastic staff (although they asked me into becoming a member - something I normally do not like to do, but the front desk supervisor helped me join via WeeChat which unfortunately is in Chinese). Downside 1 - two lifts are just insufficient for a busy hotel, so patience is required. Downside 2 - lift passes service floors, so have t, if unfortunate enough, up with riding i a lift car just after a garbage run. This hotel, at almost half the price of Novotel Watergate just round the corner, is my top economy choice in Shenzhen in future.
