Xinbai Grand Hotel

We were participants in the 2011 FAI World Championship for Soaring Model Aircraft, and The Aero Sports Federation of China chose this hotel for our stay. It was a good choice, well postioned in Laiwu, with an upmarket five storey shopping centre next door and a delightful local market within twenty minutes walk. Glittering chandeliers lit the foyer and stately carved chairs and comfortable sofas provided amply seating. We found the bedrooms to be tastefully furnished, with large double beds, good quality linen, and well equiped bathroom, and good lightining, but cupboard space was a little sparse. The buffet breakfast offered mostly Chinese food, although fresh fruit, eggs, bacon and toast were always available for Western palates. Supper was also buffet style, mainly Chinese food, always fresh and well cooked, and good value for money. Although the staff did not speak or understand much English, they were most helpful, and eventually all our requests were met. Try the Chinese Medicine Massage at the hotel spa. Excellent!
