We stayed two separate nights at the hotel because we got a China group on deal (spent one night at the Stone Forest in between) and both times they gave us a room that was still dirty and we had to wait around for the maids to come and clean it.  Also, the first day, the internet wasn't working so we had to switch to another room.  The lobby in this hotel is decent looking, but the rooms have dirty carpets and peeling wallpaper.  The bed is fairly comfortable though.  They were charging 268rmb/night for a standard room when we were there.

The worst part of the room, however, is the bathroom because there is nothing cordoning off the shower from the rest of the room and so the entire floor is soaked for a few hours after taking a shower.  It also leaves a bad sewage smell and the shower head offers very little in the way of water pressure.  Finally, it takes 5-10 minutes for the shower water to warm up which wastes a lot of time - and water...

Lastly, I was very disappointed with the lack of tourism knowledge by the front desk/concierge staff.  Even when asked in Chinese, they knew none of the tourist sights and had no clue about restaurants or anything in the area - completely useless.

The hotel is conveniently located near the main train station if you're taking the train into Kunming, but taxis aren't very expensive, so I'd try searching for a hotel elsewhere.

Not the worst, but definitely nowhere near good

When we arrived, the toilet in our room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. Dirty towels and pee in the toilet and on the floor. The house itself seems to be in dire need of maintenance. 

The breakfast is ok, but nothing really good.
