Jiaxing High Start Hotel

To write my review for this hotel, i had to find the Chinese listing for the site. To find it on western booking sites, it is known as HSH or High Start Hotel. Also book via the hotel's website as you will get a cheaper price before tax and with breakfast included as well. To me this hotel is better than the Sunshine Hotel which is a minutes walk way, at which i have also stayed at before. This is my fourth time in Jiaxing and on this occasion i stayed over Christmas and the weather was freezing and it snowed. The hotel is very grand with a very high ceiling reception/lobby. It seems to be very popular for wedding functions because at the weekend, the lobby is always decorated for the lucky couple to have their pictures took with their attendees. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed on a high floor. On the cold nights, it was very comfortable to veg out and watch the few English movie channels on TV with a few beers and snacks. The bathroom was also very well laid out with a separate cubicle for the toilet and the shower and there was a separate bath which is next to the window where you could look into your room and watch the TV. Breakfast was included in my rate and had a good selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful even if you cannot speak Mandarin. The hotel is one block away from the very large Jiaxing Babaiban Shopping Centre. Great variety of shops and restaurants on the 7th floor along with a cinema and a supermarket in the basement.
