A large hotel in the centre of downtown Datong. Staff very helpful, but English not easily understood. Ask for a room with a bath as these are larger (you get a separete shower too). We stayed there twice during a recent trip to the area, both room were nice, although we could not get the a/c to work (when it was on it blew out hot air!!). With the windows open its noisy, but a good atmospeare. For the less adventourous there is a KFC less than 5 mins walk away. Very reasonably priced.
