Very clean rooms and the owner was there when u needed hom

My room was clean and it was quiet. All my room amenities worked well. Check in was friendly and quick. Owner/operator was just a great person! Lounge had cold beer and good background music. Price was fantastic and I will definitely stay again when I return!

A quaint little inn. Well kept and upgraded No complaints.

Quiet, clean room,  pillows were small and flat - could have used a second pillow per person.  Fridge, microwave, coffee maker in good working condition.  Dated hallways, furniture.

some of the lights not working either not plugged in or just not working    Very poor lights.electric plugs you need to get on your knees to plug in anything  cause the plugs are down by the floor or move the bed to find the plug. The shower head sprays water up into ceiling. The entrance door after you open it with your key  you had to kick it to open

The room was dated and in need of some TLC however the bed was comfortable, the room was clean and did not smell musty, smokey or like stale booze. The heat was easy to adjust and there was free wifi, microwave, TV and fridge. The room was large. Bathroom was dated but clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Hotel was quiet in spite of having a lounge and VLTs. The restaurant served Korean food and it was very good.

Fine for the money

The hotel definitely could use some updates. The outside of the building doesn't look very inviting at all. When you walk in the lobby,restaurant and lounge look surprisingly better than the outside of the building. The rooms seem to have a musty smell. When I turned the tap on for a shower, the water ran brown for about 1 min. I'm guessing it hasn't ran through the pipes in awhile. Management is very friendly and the food seemed pretty good.

Friendly staff/owners

When you drive up to the Classic Inn you don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling.  The building looks seriously out of date.  Walking in to the lobby doesn't help with that feeling.  It is dark and a little stale smelling.  Then you walk up to the counter and press the Bell "for service" and a lady appears from the Bar beyond the office and grabs a ring bound notebook to find your reservation and hands you a keychain with a couple of keys to get into your room.  You walk down the hall to your room and although recently painted, the carpet and fixtures tell you that this is a hotel that is well past its time for a updating. The rooms are not a whole lot better, swag lamps, , tube TVs and out of date bedspreads and robins egg blue tub and toilet finish off the experience.  

That said, oddly enough if you can get past the slightly stale smell that permeates the hotel, when you look past the age, the rooms are neat and clean, and the stay is quiet and quite enjoyable.  Our room had two queen beds and although a little harder than I like, the linens were nice and fresh and the pillows acceptable.  The TV although 15 years old or so, still worked well and had about 60 channels of cable TV.  The shower was a WaterPic Shower Massage which provided and invigorating shower and there was no shortage of hot water.

The hotel itself has two restaurants and a lounge/bar.  One of the restaurants is a Sushi place, oddly enough Melville has two Sushi restaurants, and the other a more traditional hotel diner that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The only meal we ate there was the breakfast and it was the typical fare, eggs, bacon, ham or sausage cooked well and very tasty.  Talking to the locals, the restaurant is the go-to place for breakfast in Melville.

All in all a pleasant surprise in a place that is well past it's prime.
