I wanted to enjoy my stay here. I really didn’t. However, the motel was a disappointment from the moment I arrived. The rental agent was a racist Chinese. I would advise all black people to avoid this motel.
The rooms stink and smelled like cigarette smoke Oh and let’s not forget about the prostitutes.
I had very bad experience at every aspects during my stay. The Air Conditioner was functioning properly. Bathroom was clean but I couldn’t sleep all night because I was woken up by extremely loud guest in 2:00 am which seems like they were having a party. Also I could hear guest having sex. The wall between each room is thin and I could hear the next door guest talking on her phone. Definitely I wouldn’t stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
I had horrible customer service, worst experience ever. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR MONEY

Old Horel, in need of maintenance, very kind Chinese owner, we chose him because he was the cheapest option to stay in Ottawa, near the beautiful Gatineau Park, near restaurants and shops, not dirty, but the condition of the rooms made him think, if you're not too demanding,

Economic policy

Stayed there because it was cheap.  Small room and old sheets but super clean.  A lot of parking space and the service was fine.  Near everything in Gatineau and Ottawa. Excellent for a last minute stay.

Cheap but OK

This place is just disgusting. It's hard to believe it's still open. Everything is unhealthy, smells unsustainable, not to mention the questionable clientele. Drug deal at my door, prostitute waiting for a client. It's a hole... horrible customer service; we don't speak French or English. And finally, bed bugs infected...I had more than 60 bites after spending a single night.

The reception is poor but until now it is tolerable. You get a smoking room when you are not a smoker! Everything smelled like cigarettes, bed, curtains, the room was really disgusting. I was afraid to take a shower, to lie in bed so the place looked so badly clean!!

It's horrible.

We stayed one night at this hotel and it was enough. Not very clean. Cover burned in several places, bed covered with small holes. I recommend you check the bed carefully before you sleep in it and close your suitcases carefully. We will never go back even for a small price...

Beware of surprises

I stayed 4 days at this motel. It is well located. The reception and service were a bit difficult, since the person barely spoke French and seemed to have difficulty understanding it. However, the service was done with a lot of courtesy. The size of the room I occupied is enough for one or two people. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The WI-FI system was effective throughout my stay. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave oven. The quality/price ratio is very good for Gatineau. There are a few restaurants nearby.

Serious unhealthiness throughout the hotel, especially in smoking rooms and bathrooms, and be careful not to catch a virus or anything else while you shower, and I suggest you look elsewhere.

I had no choice to stay here. Its not dirty, but It looks like it. Everything is old and just creepy. I just saw next room I girl I think is a hooker with to guys really gang looking. Kind of scary to stay here...

we went to ottawa to see some friend, and me and my gf did saw the reviews on tripadvisor for this motel, but we were late on reservation, and we just couldnt find a place to crash for the night,  so we tried to call chateauguay to see if they still have rooms available, turns out we are lucky that someone just called in to cancel their reservs, my gf thought its a bad idea but it was 1 o'clock in the morning, so we decide to at least go take a look first, and i remember it was room 32 we stayed, we tought its gonna be like those comments saying "rotten house" but it turns out  the room is clean and quiet, the only reason im giving a 4 point rating is the night stand we had has few cigarettes burns and me and GF both are non smokers, also there were no breakfast include, but overall, its not bad at all.
