Check in was relatively easy, was some trouble as they wanted a $300 deposit for debit card. The room was spacious and retro which I found neat. Bed was decent as were the pillows. The small TV was very spotty and kept cutting out sometimes for minutes at a time but other then that our stay was good. Shower had good water pressure and was better then expected. It is an older motel but it is good value for the cheap price you pay if you are staying for a short time. It is right off the main highway so the morning was a bit loud with the traffic, so if you are a light sleeper it may not be right for you or get some ear plugs.

Because this is apparently one of the cheapest hotel in town.
If you will stay longer than one week =You must rent an apartment.
cas hotels here are too expensive to pay more than 6days
then again apartment rent is getting cheaper becas of the OIL PRICE Going down.
 I stayed for 4 nights at twin double bed room with small kitchen= nothing fancy and rather not beautiful but it has enough utensiles and I enjoy cooking too.
the fridge was big ..
 after all considering this is the cheapest in town I can recommend this hotel dor sure,,, little dirty and old but do you want to pay 100US$ for other hostels here???
 These expensive hotels will discount sooner or later ==it is stupid to pay that much money for staying this town.

Retro vibe but decent value for cheap.

Frot McMurray is a expensive town to visit and this old rather not clean hotel is the best choice for short stay

One of the cheapest options in town, although quite an old motel I think it represents good value for money. 

A short walk away from the Peter Pond mall, a Tim Horton’s and a Safeway, it’s pretty well situated. Also next to the main highway.

Check-in was fine – reception has limited opening hours, though. 8 am to 8 pm IIRC. No lift – so you might have to lug your bags up some stairs. 

The rooms are dated, but seem clean and reasonably well maintained. No frills – there’s an a/c and heating, both seemed to work well, a medium sized flatscreen and a refrigerator. No coffeemaker or microwave, no alarm clock radio…

Room was quite spacious – fair sized desk/chest of drawers, and a smaller table with a chair. Also a hanging rod but only two hangers… Bathroom was fine too. Lighting was good (unusually, all regular bulbs no economy…), TV had a surprising amount of channels available (though reception was a bit grainy). Wifi worked fine. 

There is a "service room" downstairs, which has a couple of self-service washers (or a washer and a drier ?) and a microwave.

Not bad at all for the price

This place is old and totally has that retro vibe - even had that musty and  cigarette smell but they were the only one that accommodated us during the first few days of Fort McMurray being open after the tragic fire. 

The check in lady was very friendly and accommodating. 

My room was on the second floor, fronting the highway so it was a little bit noisy. 

The price was very reasonable so I was not really expecting much. 

What you will get here is a very basic place to sleep in and have a shower  and friendly service.

The motel is within walking distance to Superstore, a step away from Wendy's/Tim Hortons and Montana's.

Total retro feel!

Stayed 9 nights in a "kitchenette" which meant a 1 piece leaky sink and 2 burners, one of which worked. No dish soap, wash cloth, toaster or coffee maker. 
Staff was extremely friendly and gracious but despite calling the day after I'd left they had thrown my forgotten pillow in the garbage. 
Decent washroom and comfortable bed but if you walk barefoot on the carpet you can feel salt like particles invading your pores. Thousands of dead mosquitoes on the bathroom light fixture and an empty condom wrapper under the bed. 
Old discarded mattresses outside provide shelter for the evening crackheads, but they tend to leave you alone.

Only if you are desperate

I stayed here a couple weeks ago, was the only hotel I had a choice on my travel site, it was pretty bad, mustard yellow old paint, smells like smoke, even though they took a 200 dollar deposit. Its totally basic accomadations, very run down, very used, very old. Right along the highway and big pick up truck diesels remote started and grinding at the crack of the sun to wake you up. It is what it is, just a place to crash.
