We had a great stay at the Dave Thomas Resort. It room was recently renovated and it was nice and clean. The view from our room was amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Clean, comfy beds and convenient. Restaurant had tasty food, wasn’t open until 8 am, closed at 8:30 so we didn’t get a chance to have the breakfast. Small thing - was travelling light for the trails so a blow dryer in the rooms would be handy ☺️

This was a great place to stay, clean and convenient before starting our back country trip. Sadly for us the breakfast time was 8 am, however the dinner we had when we returned was hearty and tasty. The beds were very comfortable - small suggestion might be a blow dryer in the rooms - I was packing light and would be great for that shower after the trails.

Great renovated clean room in a very quiet environment

We stood the second time at the David Thompson Resort. It is a lovely place beside the Abraham Lake.

Property was clean and quiet. Next door to Miette Hot Springs was really a treat.

Stayed in a renovated room in the main lodge for two nights. The room exceeded expectations. The staff were amazing and the food was great at both the restaurant and the pub. It gets very quiet after 11pm, so great for sleeping. One hour absolutely spectacular drive to the Columbia Ice Fields.

Everything was clean and comfortable, with a peaceful environment and strong hot water for showers. There was a power outage in the morning, and although they tried to fix it, it wasn’t resolved in time — we had to get ready in the dark. One unexpected thing was that a cleaner opened our door before checkout without knocking, but they quickly realized and left.

Bedroom and facilities couldn’t fault - was clean and spotless, and the bed was probably the most comfortable of my whole trip!The only negative is that I wasn’t aware before I arrived that the restaurant closes relatively early - so I was lucky and had arrived with enough time to eat there (and enjoyed my meal), but would have been a very long drive to find an alternative if I hadn’t!

The property was just as advertised.  The property looked just like the pictures.  We realized it was a less expensive place to stay so we set our expectations accordingly.  We were planning on just sleeping there and maybe coffee in the morning to head out sight seeing.  It was perfect for that. The beds were super comfy, the shower was excellent.  Got coffee every morning at the restaurant before heading out.  If you are on a budget and plan on being out and about all day this is the place.  Would definitely stay here again.

The ambience was good. I observed that in my room only the towels were kept new, garbage were removed and the bed was made. The bathroom looked newly renovated but there was no cleaning of the surfaces or floors. The shower area and the bathroom sink was nasty and there was a stinky smell in the washroom. The heat wasn’t working properly.

I'm sure this has NEW MANANGEMENT (Sept 2024) because the staff were all really very nice, especially the gentleman who served us dinner in the restaurant. We read the other reviews and we worried about staying here but we were quite happy with our experience. I suspect this property was recently purchased by a family that is in the process of fixing it up. We stayed in room #19, which was newly renovated including new Sealy mattresses. The burger and fries in the restaurant were great. The overall property needs work but the location! Right in the middle of the rocky mountains with an amazing view overlooking a blue lake. There were mouse traps in the room but, to be honest, I was happy to see those instead of having the hotel poison the mice, which would wind up poisoning any birds that ate the mice. We searched the area and this was by far the most reasonable price for a motel at $250/night. Its not a high-end hotel but it was clean and comfortable and I would happily stay there again.

This hotel was the only choice in the are, but it was decent. There is no daily housekeeping to supply you with towels, coffee, cups and emptying trash. It was a daily struggle to get the basics. Considering how expensive it was guests should not be required to search for it. The office was always closed when we need it. There is no signal and the wifi is very sketchy after 8 when all the guests are in.

Warm welcome at check in, gave all informations needed. Room was spacious and spotless, we love rooms that have no carpets! Nice and clean bathroom, walk-in shower, great towels. Plus, there was a coffeemaker, so we could enjoy the first sip BEFORE going to the restaurant for breakfast. The included breakfast was delicious and with enough variety. We will certainly come back!

I had read a bunch of negative reviews and almost canceled our booking. I am glad we didnt. The room has been renovated recently and was much nicer than I was expecting. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was also quite good. We would stay here again.
