Lynwood Inn

Clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need. I must mention though, we stayed during low season so amenities were limited. The restaurant was closed.  Coin operated laundry was closed and the ice machine was not operating. Needs convenient store is so close that it is almost in the parking lot and you can see the local pizza shop from your room window so still lots of options. I do love the location and coziness of this hotel even with limited amenities.

I can describe the Linwood Inn using 3 Cs - cozy, comfortable and clean.

I love that it is a historic hotel. It's so charming!

Very nice. We used the jetted tub. Dinner was good at the restaurant. Attended the Baddeck Gathering Ceilidh across the street, which we highly recommend!

Loved it!! Restaraunt awesome! Rooms had nice whirlpool tubs- comfortable and clean location was great- highly recommend

Homey feeling and all the rooms set up differently with antique furniture.

Fabulous…unfortunately there was no availability for a second night!!

This is a good place to stay when in Baddeck. The hotel is within easy walking distance of restaurants and the museum. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. However, the walls seem to be thin so they do not block out the talking or snoring from the room next door. Other than this, it is a great spot.

The room was spacious and quiet. The beds were comfortable but I wish they had duvets rather than old blankets. Lots of hot water and the shower was excellent. They should update the coffee maker. It was very very slow and the old drip coffee maker. Lots of parking and the restaurant was excellent! Overall good!

A good stay overall!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights.  This was a great location for us, walking distance to the waterfront park, as well as two gift shops, a good pizza place, and a great cafe for breakfast.  The room was clean and comfortable and it was quiet.
Convenient location.  We didn’t eat in the dining room so I can’t comment on that.  There was a small park and tourist info place directly across the street and a convenience store next door. 
We were happy with our choice!

Comfortable and convenient

We stayed at the Lynwood Inn on this trip to Cape Breton (we visit family living in CB every year) because they have a high speed electric car charger onsite and we now have an electric car.  Unforturnatly, the high speed charger was unable to charge our car and the standby low speed unit was in use when we needed a charge, so I had to visit a low speed charger located at the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and walk back to the hotel for the night and back to the museum in the morning to retrieve our car.  Nova Scotia east of the Halifax metro area is an EV charger wasteland and, in spite of our experience, the Lynwood Inn should be commended for working to change that.

What a pretty spot!  Well-situated for access to the Cabot Trail and within walking distance of lots of amenities in the area - grocery, restaurants, shopping and coffee shops. The room was amazing!  Comfortable, clean and luxurious with the right amount of chairs, towels, coffee.  The shower had great water pressure and also had a jacuzzi-type deep tub. Wonderful after a day of hiking!

Lovely Room

Stayed in the contemporary building. 
The room had a really strong grandma type perfume smell I didn’t like very much. I’m not sure if they do that on purpose or not. I aired the place out by opening the window 

 Beds are firm- we were so happy about that !
Clean and comfortable. 
Fridge and microwave in room as well. 

A/c was making alot of noise so we took the cover off and it was completely frozen  -we shut it off and let it thaw out.  Was frozen after about an hour of runtime.  Windows can be opened. 

Had breakfast in the restaurant in the main building. Not good. Service was slow and kind of matter of fact. 
I was pretty disappointed 
The pancakes were very dry and hard to cut- since I know how to cook they were either pre-made and reheated on the grill or microwaved. Did not look or taste like they were made fresh. Compote on top was pretty minimal. Overpriced. 

Eggs were brown from being over fried (scrambled ) but was a large heap flat on the plate.  Ate maybe half of each meal out of necessity and will look elsewhere for the next meal.

Great firm bed room has everything you need

Family of 3.  Clean rooms, nice balcony off bedroom.  Very clean washroom facilities and would highly recommend and stay again.   Dining onsite was.delicious but def priced for tourist season.  Only1 critique: breakfast really high priced for what is offered, should be priced more fairly for your guests.so they.dont.go elsewhere for.first meal of the day.

The beds were comfy and jetted tub a great touch. But most of all the Andrew the owner, who was also chef, cleaned out room on his hands and knees plus the rug when one of our party was sick all night. Then his sister Ally did our laundry twice as it still smelled after one cycle in the wash. She also folded it and bagged it and deleivered to our room. Plus they provided broth and bread for supper and refused, to charge us for it. This is why it it worth to stay at a family owned and managed hotel rather than a chain. We were very impressed.

Caring owners

The Inn has been lovingly taken care of for generations. We stayed in the newer building, but dined in the historic house. Both were incredibly clean. Our room was very comfortable with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, nice tv, and glassware.  Great water pressure and hot water supply. We were right across the hall from the laundry room, but didn't hear much noise from it at all. The final night, a loud group of about 15 people gathered in the room next door, but surprisingly, there was good insulation between the rooms!Hats off to the wonderful staff and chef! You guys are awesome!
