The wood work in foyer and bedrooms is AMAZING. It’s comfortable clean and reasonably priced so I’m giving it a second review. The French restaurant a couple of streets away is a natural partner for meals as is the local market fir breakfast

This was a $xx room for a third of the price, admittedly we were there in the off season and after the first night we extended by a further three nights.  We applied for an upgrade upon arrival to a delux double which gave us a balcony, a view over the river and a bath - all of which we used as one of us was recovering from ill health.  The hotel provided everything you’d expect plus some noddle options in the room which we took to having for lunch.  Laundry was taken care of at reception for us as was a request for pricing for a taxi back to Phnom Penh.  Big shout out to Mr Vannat here for his amazing rubber tour factory tour and for arranging what was our final taxi back to Phnon Pehn.  Anyone looking for prices or driver suggestions from Kampong Cham to other places, PM me.  WIFI pretty good, bed comfortable, staff okay when approached, door man enthusiastic to have the door open for you.  Interestingly only one third of the geography of the hotel is accessible from the lifts, no idea what the other two thirds of their real estate is used for

The room was clean, well furnished. It had a balcony with a view of the river and only cost $20. The staff were all friendly and polite. There are several restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in KC.

Stayed there overnight on our way from Kratie to Siem Reap.  The hotel is a wonderful example of late/post French architecture with lavish rooms and a delightful, small balcony overlooking the road and the Mekong River.  We spent an absorbing hour or three with a cold beer, watching the local population go about its business.  The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but there is an absolute gem next door which I'll review next.  The rooms are clean, big and very comfortable.  The staff were extremely helpful.

We stayed a night here on our way up to Kratié. It was perfect for the price. Central. Booked a room overlooking the Mekong and watched the sun come up from the balcony. Everything worked - ac and hot water. Next door to best restaurant (per TA) in town (Smile) - owed by the hotel as well I think. Scary over elaborate bedrooms!

Stayed here for one night as part of a G Adventures tour in December 2023. 

The hotel is on the banks on the Mekong in the middle of the town. Arrival and check-in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and all spoke good English.

Our room was on the second floor (you can take the lift or stairs).

Our room was a good size, with the exotic furniture that others have described. If you like dark, intricate wood carvings, then this is the place for you. The room was clean and the beddings was too. The beds were comfy and we had a small flatscreen TV, desk and chair, vanity table and mirror, small fridge and wardrobe. The bathroom was a good size with modern fixtures. The shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure.

The wifi was quick, with good signal range. The hotel didn't offer any meals when we were there, so we had breakfast two doors up from the hotel (see separate review).

Overall, a good stay made better by the friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel from the outside is nothing special. But wait till you get into your room. My mouth literally dropped open as I walked in. The décor is from an era that is long gone (see picture). Very much over the top but the quality of the wood carving is top quality and is still in very good nick. This must have been THE hotel to stay in the grand old days. 

My room is clean, equipped with all the mod cons, including air conditioning. 

One thing that I will always remember is how helpful the staff are. I came down to the lobby to wait for my luggage and without prompting, one of the staff came over and switched on a fan and place it near me. I can tell that he was not looking for a tip. He simply wanted me to be comfortable. 

The hotel is located right by the bank of the Mekong. Strolling along the promenade during evening is pleasant.

There is a restaurant near by (a few steps left after the main entrance) that serves simple food and drink. It provides training for local youths for potential work in the service industry. We had dinner and breakfast there. No problem at all.

This is a hotel that I would stay if I come to Kampong Cham again, just to show my wife the OTT decors in the rooms. 

This hotel is clean and features amazing carved furniture.  It is located adjacent to the Mekong and it is in close proximity to every thing you could need.
The reception staff do speak English which very helpful.

Intricate wood and great staff

Stunning Old World Charm

Elegant and cost effective - loved the welcome elephant towels

well, the furniture is probbaly not produced anymore
all is old-fashioned and heavy
the curtains are extremely elaborately done and hung

the rooms are large but full
and all has a kind of charm of by-gone splendid days :-)

i liked it for a night - certainly not an ordinary hotel room

quite special furniture and a bit weird and old fashioned deco -that  makes the charm of it

Good standard

The name is a bit confusing, since it is written in a different order in different places - and sometimes with a number '2' intruding as well. There is an older Monorom Hotel just around the corner; but they have no obvious connection to each other.

The location is excellent, right on the riverfront, towards the northern end of the riverfront promenade through the town centre (although KC is very small, and nearly all the hotels and guesthouses are on this riverside strip).

The rooms are large and very comfortable - although the decor (lots of traditional heavy wood furniture!) may be a bit florid for some people. Rooms at the front have nice little balconies overlooking the Mekong. The bed is very comfortable. Shower, fan, and A/C work well, and the TV has one of the best cable packages I've found in the country.

The one slight demerit is that - perhaps because of the big rooms, thick walls, abundance of heavy wooden furniture - the wi-fi signal is unusably weak in many rooms, and a bit unreliable in others (it doesn't help that the routers have a very eccentric numbering system that does not correspond with room numbers, or even floors!).

This is 'boutique hotel' level accommodation, for only around twice what most of the basic guesthouses charge. Nicest place I've found so far in KC.
