I gave my parents two days in this hotel as a wedding anniversary gift and it was definitely the worst gift in the world. The day they arrived, my parents called me and wanted to come home, because the room they were staying in looked like a mold basement. The sheets were dirty with yellow spots and in the bathroom they found medium-sized spiders. They tried to change rooms but it wasn't possible. Total disappointment. Trip in May 2016.

The hostel is ideal for those looking for tranquility. It is 20 minutes from Petrópolis, but access to it is quite difficult because it is at the top of a hill, so to get there only on foot or by taxi.

My boyfriend and I really like the hostel, the quiet and pleasant atmosphere, the owners are very nice, and the super-attentive maid Monique even made a nod for my boyfriend the day he had a bad time.

My husband had a really bad time because we stayed in suite 6 where there's a lot of mould. The bed is old (the mattress is not even talking, it had features). Old crossroads... The bathroom sink was very leaky... The shower is very hot (there's no cold or warm water)... There's no cable TV... The pool was dirty (there was a gongolo, really)... There's no Wi-Fi in the rooms (just at the reception and look there)... The climb is very steep (almost a Russian one), go to the mountain or even in a rainy day to think, space just for a pass... Simple landing, good location, but with a giant hill, easy to reach by bus, it leaves near the entrance of the hill that leads to the inn.

Good cost benefit

The view is wonderful! the hygiene is terrible! after 2 nights we asked to clean the room... which was done anyway... since we found the hostel owner's cell phone under the bed which was still dusty, coffee always late... after 8:00... friendly staff but the service is bad... unusable pool... air conditioning ok... shower ok... basic breakfast... what really saved was the view... take care of the little kids!

Poor service, manager and owner of complete lack of education and professionalism, despite having an excellent view of the sea, the rooms have a terrible structure.

I decided to spend the new year 2011/2012 with my boyfriend in this inn. Both the website and the emails exchanged said one thing and when we arrived... whatever couple bed I had, it was two single beds. Swimming pool: empty, with dirty bottom. No fridge. We asked for room change, we went to another equally ugly one. And we had to pay more for the crap. We left before the season.

I see it's still bad.

The rooms have a beautiful view and the bathroom is amazing. We went on a very cold day, and the blankets weren't enough, nor is there a heater in the room, just a fireplace, in which the wood is charged in part. Breakfast is gsotoso, but not much variety. The price was high for what was offered. The wifi practically doesn't work and the TV also gets very bad and only two or three channels.

Reasonable

This is the worst hotel experience in my life: a front desk guy that at least speak some Portuguese... No wifi, no tv, no towels, no soap, the toilet was clogged, the room was so humid and the water from the tap was... Yellow (yes, yellow!!! O.o).

Downstairs were some people smoking in the lobby, so we could smell it I'm the room. In the breakfast, some ants joined us coming out from the sugar jar, and at the final... The guy did not help us to move our luggage. They asked us to pay more because "the currency exchange changed"

Really...?

Yes. Do not go to this place. Make your reservation with time and if not, better to sleep in your car rather than go to those crappy "pousadas"
