Enjoyed every minute during the carnival here friendly safe and beautiful atmosphere 
You can get everywhere walking close to the center and to the other touristic parts of Olinda 
Can't wait to visit again

Good location, nice staff except the manager, bad quality of the bedding, not very clean, big problems of safety(security): I lives an aggression in front of the door a Saturday evening at 11:30 pm while waiting alone in the street almost one hour because the staff was not present in the hostel to open me and because no key is given... the manager never apologized or admite his responsibility! I don t recommend

Lack of safety and dishonest manager

Great location, in the heart of the old town of olinda within walking distance to all parties and sights around. Spacious, with good wifi (rare thing in the town), kitchen, breakfast in the morning, nice garden and a small pool on the backyard. It has a friendly atmosphere and great people managing this place. Totally recommended..

Best place to be in Olinda!!!

The location is excellent, close to the historic part with its markets and close to the area of bars. It is a small town and very picturesque. The hostel guys are very nice (Liza and Bruno) always attentive and very helpful. The breakfast is complete and included. has a kitchen open 24 hours. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. In general terms I recommend the hostel, it has a very good price/quality ratio and would definitely visit them again.

The Gran Hostel!

This hostel is a very nice old colonial house. The staff is absolutely amazing, they will help you a lot and even take you out to have some drinks. I had a very nice time and I felt like home. They also invited us to share their brazilian food. The rooms are nice too, with air con and good beds. I totally recommend this place!

Very friendly hostel

Part of the architectural heritage of the old town of Olinda,
SBH is a colonial house that have shared rooms with A/C to fight the terrible heat during the night
a good breakfast
and smily people willing to help everybody,a nice terrace in the backyard with a small pool
for sure a good accomodation to spend your time in Olinda

Feel like home at SBH

The shared rooms are huge! lots of people sleeping in the same space. if it rains there's no place to have breakfast or sit down. the attention is good and it's in an excellent location. i was in the preparations for the carnival, and on sunday it was an absolute party, with the blocks passing through the door, all day celebrating. very nice experience.

It's all right.

Dynamic, young, pleasant and warm staff: Bruno and Lisa can advise you on any kind of tourist outing in the area, and even offer to party with them. They are absolutely adorable people! The place is very nice, the pool and the terrace are pleasant (with beautiful fruit trees you can taste: caramboles and mangoes at will). The bedrooms may be a little small for the number of beds there are. But it is still comfortable. A lunch that leaves you wanting! But as the people who take care of the place are hospitable, we forgive everything! An experience not to be missed during your visit to Olinda!

Absolutely great

Me and my partner stayed for 3 nights. The room was a 12 bed dorm with comfy beds, air con and a individual reading light. Staff were very friendly although we had trouble communicating as we are only learning Portuguese and not all staff speak English. You can use the washing machine free of charge which is great when travelling, the breakfast is nice and you can make the showers nice and hot. There are cooking facilities but no work surfaces to prepare your food and the oven is broken. The main downside is they only have 2 bathrooms so you have to wait for the toilet and shower. The location is great and the pre carnival parade comes right past the hostel.
