Flow

I stayed at Guesthouse Flow for 4 days and 4 nights. This pousada was recommended by contact I made prior to my trip. I was looking for something on a solo traveler budget, that was clean, comfortable, and friendly. This place more than met those requirements. I spent ~$40US per night and the cost included breakfast each morning. Breakfast consisted of various fresh fruits, bread, fresh juices, coffee, and eggs (made to order). From the outside you don’t expect much, but inside the gate the courtyard is lush and tropical, with hammocks hanging outside each room. The room I had was basic, but was perfect for me. The bed was comfy, had an open air window, fan, and seperate shower/bathroom combo. I had my own key to my room and a key to unlock the gate each night. The pousada is located a few blocks off the Main Street in town, which is great because it’s a little quieter at night. It is just a quick walk to the center of town where all the night life, stores, and street vendors are. It is also a quick 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach, Praia de Malhada, which is less crowded than the main beach and even can get some surf. The owner, Camilla, is very friendly and always checked to make sure I was enjoying my stay. Her husband (Julian) owns Kite Nomad Kite School, which I also highly recommend. I was only there for 3 days of kiting, so I was able to rent my kite gear from Julian at a very affordable, instead of bringing my own gear (it was all 2017 Cabrinha gear!). Cami and Julian both speak English pretty well too, which was a huge plus, since my Portuguese was very very basic. If you are a solo traveler, or traveling with a friend, or traveling as a couple, and looking for a simple, inexpensive, quiet, place to stay, you will not be disappointed!
