Elephant Valley Lodge

We visited for 2 nights and had a great time.  The tent was rustic but not too basic.  Comfortable bed and more than enough room and a great view where the animals walk thru.  Our guide was Sox.  He was outstaning.  Great knowledge and his English was on point.  The only drawback was the food was just average.  Different protiens each meal and then the same salad, etc.  All the staff were friendly and helpful  Overall a great time

One of my favorite camps in Botswana! I love the location and the rooms are comfortable. Meals are good and plenty of food. The pool has a troth for the elephants to drink in front of you while relaxing at the pool. Staff is great and it's easy to get there from Victoria Falls. 

We had a wonderful time at the Elephant Valley Lodge! We stayed for two nights and wished we stayed longer. The tents or maybe a tad less luxurious then at other tented camps we stayed at butt the main attraction here is the incredible watering hole located right outside the electric fence that surrounds the camp, and we had nonstop action from giraffes and elephants! Everyone we encountered was kind, attentive, and truly interested in making sure that we that every possible need was met. The beds are super comfortable and we certainly appreciated the hot water bottles on the chilly nights. We also appreciated the laundry service which is included for all guests, and found the meals to be delicious. Chobe National Park is truly incredible and our game drives were incredible. We were definitely recommend and return to this beautiful lodge!

Fabulous room overlooking the watering hole. Saw so many animals including giraffes, elephants, hogs and so much more. We were so lucky to have that room.
The 2 on-site mongoose chilli & mango are adorable. 
The massive spider in my room wasn’t though and we had a few of them.
Food disappointing and sometimes hard to get a drink during the day.
The safari day trip was disappointing. 

The first thing we saw was the water hole, where a family of elephants had gathered in the sun. This is a lovely camp, everyone so friendly, and very comfortable. Food was delicious! We had 2 safari drives each day, and saw a leopard, and lions, as well as so many elephants, giraffes and zebras. Our guide Lebo was great. It was very cold at night, and the electric blankets being turned on ready for your bedtime was such a treat!

A lovely stay at this very charming camp where all manner of animals gather at a watering hole facing the common area of the camp. From our tents we had spectacular views of sunrise and sunset.  Our guide did his utmost to  ensure we saw as much wildlife as possible, and the staff looked after us very well. Thank you to Florence and co !

Stayed in luxury tent. Plenty of wildlife, including view of the local watering hole, whisk was floodlit at night.

Florian and his team did everything they could to make our stay special, including arranging special, individualised safari trips at short notice. 


EVL was absolutely amazing. We visited with our two adult children (20 & 23). Our guide, Sox, was incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating and very personable. He and all of the staff here were extremely attentive to our needs and ensured that we had an incredible experience. The staff at the lodge were super friendly. The food and drink were fantastic and plentiful. The accommodations were exactly what we expected and then some - cute “tents” overlooking a waterhole that gave us incredible animal viewings. We felt like we were having a private African safari most of the time!  The evening river cruise was a unique highlight. We highly recommend this lodge!!

This is a fantastic situated camp, where you can come very close to animals, even when you enjoy your meals or your sundowner. We woke up and fell asleep to the sounds of numerous birds. Comfortable tents, friendly  and helpful staff. 
One night we heard the roar of lions in 'discussion' with many hyenas, close to our tent, and the next day we were shown the buffalo cadavre they had byen fighting over. Every evening before sunset, several elephants visited the waterhole close to the fireplace, and we could observe them.  Fascinating! We hope to be back one day!

We spent Christmas here, with all the Christmas fare that we would have at home. Had the most incredible experience  at this lovely ‘camp’ site. Safe secure with staff 24/7. It’s posh camping, I would say, Has heavy duty fixed tent, set on concrete foundation, Complete with a semi mess door, double bed, mosquito net, everything you’d expect to find in a hotel room, nice roomy bathroom & toilet. Lovely shower. Has a veranda with comfy chairs to relax, over looking the water hole where all sorts of  animals & large birds, (including giraffes & elephants) come all day & night to drink. Sounds of nature all around. Electric fence around the campsite. The staff were the absolute best.  Always attentive with big smiles. Florian, the manager was always there day & night, always making sure we were ok throughout our stay. Staying late & up early. Our stays included all food and drinks, river cruises & game drives with our guide Simon who was so good & knowledgeable. The food was lovely. My only regret is we couldn’t stay longer.

Nothing can beat the watering hole where animals come right in front of you. Watching these animals while you’re eating or just having a drink is amazing. Everyone there is so kind and helpful and prompt. Clear. The food was prepared beautifully. The rooms could use a refresh.Not quite as nice as advertised. Our group had David and Socks as our guides. They were both very informative and wonderful!

Wife and I stayed here 2 nights at end of our Globus tour. Reviews made hotel seem more glamorous than it is. However, if you want to experience animals in the wild, it’s fine. Although pricey. 
The negatives - hot and dusty in September, small AC over bed which just covers sleeping area at night, no tv, bugs in tent, power fails occasionally, shower has low flow and water temp goes cold, hot, etc.  Pool looks nice but questionable water quality and it’s cold. 
HOWEVER, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Water hole in front of lodge is amazing to view elephants, antelope, giraffes, baboons, birds in a natural setting. Food is fine, buffets, with dinner served in front of water hole so you can view animals.  Bar service all day which was included for our rate. 
Safaris were very good once you got to the reserve. But you bounce around for 30 minutes to get there, it got old. Saw 4 of the Big 5, they don’t have rhinos there due to poaching concerns. Boat ride good for rhinos and crocodiles. Elephants everywhere lol!
We were okay with our 2 nights there and 3 safaris and 1 boat ride, but were ready to leave.  Stay for the animals but don’t expect 5 star hotel.

EVL is incredible!!!

Loved this place. We were lucky to get the best room overlooking the watering hole. As a result we saw EVERYTHING from monkeys to giraffes, elephants, wart hogs and so much more. It was amazing.
I also made friends with the house Mongoose Chilli and Mango. Adorable little thngs but naughty when they followed me and hid in my room.

The room was nice - basic as expected and the massive spiders I did not like!!

The food wasn't good - just OK and the staff tried to encourage us to go on trips so they didn't have to serve us. It was difficult trying to get hold of anyone if you wanted a drink.
The manager was really nice and accommodating.

The pool is tiny but you can sit around it and the elephants come right by to play in a semi dry watering spot.

Loved this place - definitely recommend.
