We had a wonderful vacation last year at this resort. I forgot to write the review. My 2 sons had a wonderful time there. The family in charge was so helpful and relaxed. I recommend this place to everyone!
Would surely go back!

We spent a week here this February and found this property to be a great value, pretty conveniently located within minutes of the coast and minutes from the town center of Kralendijk. Staff was friendly, Apartment was clean and spacious. Bedroom AC worked great. The kitchen was a little light on utensils, but we made what was there work for a few meals. The local restaurants in town are just to good to miss anyway. The one thing in my opinion that would make a big difference is rinse tanks for our gear. Or a spot to pull up and hose stuff off. Oh and the local Roosters and dogs make up quite a chorus at times. All in all a fine place to stay

I read some other reviews before selecting this particular spot for my 7 day vacation and used the tips from here to make my stay more enjoyable,  including keeping windows and doors locked at night, and bringing my own washcloths and hand towels. Several great things about this place: there is a very convenient Chinese store across the street - I purchased dry goods: TP, Kleenex,  napkins, sandwich fixings, butter, and juice. There was also cheap frozen chicken,  pork chops, ice cream. Also picked up coffee and sugar. The kitchen appliances and cookware was more than stocked in order to make meals versus eating out every day. My room was a one bedroom apartment so the air conditioning was perfect for my little "studio," bedroom and bathroom. I was mindful to turn off the air and room fans when I left on my daily excursions. The shower was spacious, though the hot water lasted between 5 and 7 minutes...I didn't mind, however, as daily temperatures were around the 90s. All in all, it was a perfect spot, 10 minute walking distance the room to the pier. Nice pool and a very nice couple who showed me the room and helped me use the TV
remotes. The only downside to the place would be the morning 
construction of nearby condos being built on the site...with the windows and doors closed, it wasn't a problem and I was gone early each morning when the workers started. As a solo woman traveler, I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Dormio Village (aka Courtyard Village) in Bonaire for 2 weeks in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo.

The village is a 10 minute walk to the end of the harbour front.  You can see the massive cruise ships from the condo.  There is plenty of parking available on the property and it’s a really close drive to the harbour front, grocery store etc.  It’s actually very well located to be in the centre of everything.

There are a number of duplexes on the property, most of which offer a 2 bedroom on the upper level and a 3 bedroom on the ground level.  Both have 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and outdoor space.  Technically speaking, both are the same size, although the two bedroom offers significantly more outdoor space and a little bit more privacy since no one is walking by.

The resort itself is pretty quiet, there are always pool chairs available and very rarely are there people at the pool.  The pool is open 24/7 which is fantastic for a night cap when you have a child with you on vacation.

The condos have large bedrooms and nice bathrooms.  The kitchens are appointed with a dishwasher, microwave, stove top (no oven), kettle, coffee machine, dishes etc.  

Although the accommodations were generally pretty good, we did feel that there were a number of things that needed work or upgrades such as:  the living room furniture space was not very comfortable, there was no air conditioning in the living/kitchen space - only in the bedrooms, an oven or BBQ would have been great as it’s hard to cook only using a frying pan, the beds were very firm and uncomfortable, the lighting is really bad (not bright enough by any means), and there was a lack of hot water (not enough for 4 people).  All of that said, these are things that we dealt with and we were still quite happy.  

There is construction happening on the property which does cause some noise however it is done during the day and never bothered us.

From speaking with the property manager, we understand that the condos are privately owned and if the owners wish to rent them out, it is done through the property manager.

Finally, the property manager and his wife were really nice people always willing to provide suggestions and fix things that weren’t quite working properly.-

Amazing

Keys were suppose to be left, had hard time contacting owner as our phone dont have service, had to have a local call for us.  Took over an hour to get our place after arriving. Nice big balcony, apartment and rooms good size.  Living room furniture not comfortable  TV really small and low on stand and no TV in bedroom.  Need working airconditioners ( way too hot inside), more big pillows (they have 1 tiny flat pillow) and comforter, memory foam on top of bed for softness bed is very hard. . Black out curtains  sun streams in. More dishes  juice jug

Dormio bonaire village

We stayed in two separate apartments (both 2 bedroom) during our 2+ week stay. The first apartment was very near construction which started banging at 0700...which is why we asked to be moved. Staff was eager to help and moved us to another apartment farther away from construction (there are no less than 3 apartments being slowly built...so construction is difficult to avoid). The first apartment was clearly an investment property as it had few personal touches and we found a few broken kitchen items (which were quickly replaced when we mentioned it to the wonderful staff) and touchy appliances. The second apartment (F2 I believe) is lovingly cared for by the family that owns it and we felt much more at home here. Kudos to the maker of the great handmade wooden outdoor table! While the 2nd apartment was farther from the pool, it was our favorite. 

All said, we are an exploring family and the apartment was a nice base station. 

Pros: 
- comfortable mattress
- dual voltage outlets
- near Chinese convenience store (<100m)
- nice landscaping
- gated (although see con below)
- wonderful staff
- staff will pre-stock food such as bread if you ask. Nice to be able to make sandwiches upon arrival after a long flight!
- screened windows (great to avoid mosquitoes)
- fun pool with colorful lighting at night
- kitchen and kitchenware was adequate 

Cons:
- no laundry facilities for longer stays 
- gated entry keys to exit rather than enter...odd. Key fob very touchy. One morning we had a line of 3 cars trying to exit without luck. Thankfully the staff saw and came to help with a manual code 
- active construction starting at 0700
- militant mosquitoes (no active control that we saw) maybe add occasional spraying or mosquito zappers
- while the second apartment was very nice, the master bedroom has a septic problem (likely P-trap at shower) that leaves an odor. This can be mitigated by simply covering the shower drain when not in use to that gases do not enter the bathroom

We would stay again because of the attentive staff and the nice second apartment.

I recommend apartment F2. 


Nice off-water apartment 

I booked this through Booking.com 6 months prior to a family trip at a reasonable rate,   Two and a half weeks prior to my vacation I got an alert that my credit card would not go through.  I spoke to my bank and they stated the resort had not tried to run the card,I spoke to resort, same thing- card would not go through.  I switched the credit card to another- then I got a notice that they cancelled my booking.  I called them immediately to try to find out what the problem was and if we could work on a solution- rude woman on phone stated "No- your reservation is cancelled". ??

Be Careful- Very Sketchy business practices

There was construction on 2 sides of out apartment. Started at 7 am until 5 pm. All they loud noise, cutting stone, drilling.

Wasn’t mentioned when booking it nor when arriving at the resort; bar service! Setting expectation is the minimum you should do as a resort owner or personnel.

Looked forward to a quiet, sunny vacation and landed in a construction pit!

Construction galore...

We stayed at this villa/resort for 10 days. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night burglars broke a lock, forced open a window and unlocked a door from the inside. While we slept they took all of our valuables, including phones, watches, laptops and jewellery. It was quite a shock, but we felt very fortunate that no one was hurt. Much to our surprise when we informed the resort owner and manager about the burglary not only did they fail to show any sign of compassion, but every time we spoke with them they callously made up new stories to explain why the burglary was actually our fault. The owner is far more interested in maintaining a false image, rather than actually being of service to his guests. 

The resort is gated, but large areas of the rear compound are used as a junkyard making it easy for the burglars to climb over the fence undetected. The burglars apparently waited in one of the neighbour’s parked cars, casing the villas until the time was right. There is a security camera, but when the police inquired the owner confirmed that it doesn’t actually work.  

We strongly advise not staying at this location. Not only is it dangerous, but the owner is only interested in his own gain.
