Schneider-Gssl 

Located far from the center of town, in a beautiful quiet, green picturesque neighborhood of Vienna, the Schneider-Gössl is more of a guest house than a hotel, but therein lies its charm! Rooms have a traditional feel about them, no frills, but clean with lots of natural light. I stayed in an "apartment" room 300m from the reception, and found it easily cordially guided by Helga the wonderful receptionist (may be difficult tugging luggage along, but easily doable). Helga is also responsible for the stellar breakfast - again no frills, but very fresh produce, from the bread to the garden grown organic vegetables to the fresh seasonal fruit, to the cheese platters, desserts, etc. To sum up, at first I was upset that I wasn't put in a "real" hotel, but then realized that I was lucky to experience this true Austrian guest house, so different from the other "faceless" high end hotels.
