Aviano is an outstanding hotel, managed by the same family for many years. They are located in the heart of Old Town Vienna in a beautiful historic building. The location is second to none. You can walk to many major attractions in just a few minutes and the area is littered with great dining, shopping and people watching. Despite the central location, Aviano offers a quiet oasis within the busy Vienna core. Once inside the hotel, you will find an amazingly quiet atmosphere where you can relax and unwind. The rooms have been recently renovated and offer every convenience including modern, easily controlled HVAC, while keeping the elegant decor of Old Vienna. We especially loved the traditional red and gold furnishings, the royal colors of the bygone Habsburg empire. We found the staff, especially Sophie and Polina, to be extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast is included and they serve up a delicious, fresh meal each morning, with lots of diverse options. You will not find a better Vienna accommodation. Note: Rick Steves lists Aviano as one of his Vienna favorites, and we can see why!
