Pension Schnbrunn Vienna 

We spent three nights here to visit the city and the Christmas markets. Part of the attraction was it offered single rooms, great for our daughter who was travelling with us. We were also not tied in to breakfast on our package, though in fact we ate there every morning as it was convenient and represented good value for money. You need to order it the night before. The hotel is situated in a residential area a short walk from the spectacular Schoenbrunn Palace. Although in the suburbs it is only a short walk to the underground station with frequent trains to the city centre; it took about 20 minutes usually including the walk. The rooms were comfortably furnished with TV, 2 armchairs and mini bar. Our small double room had a generous size bed but one side was against the wall which may not suit some people. Our room was overly warm so the helpful receptionist altered the thermostat for us to make it more comfortable. The shower room was spotless, the water was always hot and the shower powerful. Most of the rooms face a central courtyard away from the traffic noise so it was quite quiet. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and very helpful. They spoke excellent English but patiently let us practise our German. We were delighted with our choice of accommodation. Top Tip: if you intend to travel to the hotel from the airport by taxi then let the hotel book you a cab; it works out about Euro15 cheaper than simply getting one at the airport.
