We stayed for a long weekend in Gamsjaga and enjoyed it very much. I booked the "alm hut"-room and we felt like in a cozy chalet up in the alms. The room was totally out of wood and had nice little details. We had a big terrace with a perfect view over the lake and towards the Schafberg (a mountain near the lake). The breakfast buffet was very good and we enjoyed some with local specialties (honey, cake, bacon etc.) You can start hiking around Wolfgangsee or up the mountains directly from the hotel, so you do not need a car. There is also a bus station very close. One of the staff was a bit rude, but the owner was very nice and helpful.
