Edelweiss Alpine Lodge

I can't speak highly enough of the Edelweiss Lodge. We went in February with a group of 9 people ranging from 3-75 years old and rented an apartment, a family room and a double room. The family room was huge: not the usual extra bed squeezed into a double room and everything was clean and comfortable. Both the bedrooms had balconies and the apartment bathroom was really big. Rates were very reasonable with big discounts for kids and no punitive charges for single occupancy of the double room. The kitchen in the apartment was small and had 2 hot plates, microwave and kettle. We went half board. Breakfast was a generous cold meat, fresh bread and fruit buffet with eggs cooked to order every day. Dinner had 2 options which we chose in the morning. They were always traditional Austrian food and there was always a vegetarian option. We would give the time we wanted to eat in the evening so there was no waiting around when you were seated (great when you have kids with you.) The hotel was 2 minutes walk from the lift station for skiing and 30 seconds from the ski hire shop. There was plenty of space for storing ski equipment and the room was also warm so stuff could dry overnight. The owners were really helpful when one of our kids was unwell and were available to help with information and spoke very good English for those in our group without German. Overall, a brilliantly equipped, friendly and well-located hotel at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend and plan to visit again.
