Feriendorf Holzlebn

We were a group of three families with six children ranging from seven months to thirteen years. As well as being in a stunning location with access to amazing hikes up to Hütten for lunches with a view, the resort itself was fantastic. We had packed the things that from experience we find self-catering accommodation doesn’t provide, but needn’t have bothered. Although small, the kitchen had everything we needed - sharp knives, enough dishwasher tablets, cleaning cloths, bin bags. There is a very good coffee machine too that delivers coffee is any format you might want! The sauna room was beautifully done and the outside bath (though without jets, so no whirlpool) was a nice touch too. The little kids loved it, as did one of the couples who watched the stars from it one evening. The broader facilities were great - particularly with the kids. There were rabbits and goats to be petted, two different playgrounds, Bobby-Cars, balance bikes and pedal-tractors to play with. The location also offered a free daily distraction for the kids at 16.30 - a couple of circuits around the paddock with the ponies and stockbrot and wurst over the bonfire. The kids had an absolutely brilliant time using all the facilities. The hosts also provided a fabulous spread of local cheese and cold cuts for breakfast on the first day, followed by just bread that you ordered each morning thereafter. This made life much easier and was savoured by all. The eldest child in our group did a couple of horse riding sessions and really enjoyed them. Four of the adults also had massages - two were up in the main house and two were done in the house we were staying in. All felt even more relaxed than we were before for the massage. In all the contact we had with the staff they couldn’t have more helpful, even arranging the massages for us at relatively short notice. We left having created some great memories, feeling more relaxed than we had expected and would highly recommend the place.
