After we had to cancel for personal reasons about 10 days before arrival, we received a message from the landlord that she would find this very unfriendly and promptly asked us to pay half of the planned 4 nights - although all the portals indicated a free cancellation until 5 days before arrival.

It's not going to get any worse.

The room was nice and spacious, but the landlady was quite private. At 6 p.m. she called me where I was (I had a 10-hour walk behind me and was 10 minutes late!). Breakfast was exactly 8-9 p.m. I asked to be able to come a little earlier, as I only liked to drink tea and coffee in the morning and I had planned another longer walk. This was already a middle problem. But when I was still sitting at 8:40 a.m. at breakfast, she shrugged her hands over my head and asked me why I came at 7:45 a.m. when it was still early. All in an unpleasant, unfavorable tone. Workers who had reserved a room had to get dressed in the shoes.

A beautiful house with a housewife who needs to be used

We spent 3 nights in June 2021 at this horrible place. We got an apartment in the basement. Though it's sunny outside the room was very cold. At first, the host lady was very friendly but after we told her our room was freezing she became irritated and annoyed. She told us to open the window to let the breeze in so the room gets warmer from the heat outside.  We did that but it was still freezing. At check out, we told her should check the heater. She was suddenly pissed and told us that because my wife is Asian and the Philippines don't like to open the window that's why the room was cold! I told her my wife is not even from the Philippines and that's definitely not the reason for the cold room! The lady was very racist and ignorant. She didn't apologize for the comment and neither for the room.  Not recommended unless you like freezing place and rude host.

Furchtbare Unterkunft und Gastgeberin!

We were spontaneously wandering around in the inn, and there was no room available, so we landed in this lodging. The short-term booking for 2 nights went by without any problems, but after one night we had to move to another apartment. The house itself looks very nice with a nice garden. Inside it is very chickish decorated with many art flowers, and you smell it is an older house. The location of the house is actually quite good, lounges are easily accessible. But unfortunately, the train runs right past the next morning, which leads to a light breakfast.

Interesting property; the room was clean and spotless, so is the complete house. The breakfast was nothing special, but decent and enough. 
My only point is the running of the 'hotel' - it is managed by an elderly lady, which is nice (as long as you're experienced in Austrian upper class conversational chitchat), but please make sure you take your bags when you check out, otherwise you might be locked out and have to wait until the 'hotel' opens again (aka when she comes back).

'Interesting' experience

The day before booked and informed that we'd be back later (22 a.m.). It wasn't a problem yet. The next day, the bitter disappointment, no one took off. After the worst case - at 9 p.m. - the lady took off and declared that she'd already left the room, it's already too late. And suddenly you're standing on the street and you don't know where to sleep.

Watch out!

The humidity was extremely high! All the doors and windows were already wide open on arrival. We were greeted by a soft smell. We left the apartment for two hours and afterwards all the stuff and paper were completely wet, the windows were running out of water and you didn't get any air. Cleanliness isn't much to talk about here either. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our stay shortly after arrival, because under these circumstances it was not possible for us to feel comfortable in this apartment and we didn't have another free room available. We can't judge what the rooms in the villa look like, but we definitely can't tell which apartment is located in the basement.

Get your fingers out of the underground apartment!

We booked the room through a booking gate. When we arrived at the house, we first left our motorcycles, unloaded them, then went to the entrance - there was a door to ring or call. I rang the doorbell twice - after a few waits we tried it by phone. After a long noise (you could hear the phone ringing in the house - there were also voices), a lady went to the phone. The conversation was a bit confusing - the confusion continued even in the personal conversation, as they wanted to force us to have a discussion that we did not want to have after a long motorcycle ride. After a few minutes, the lady of the house stood alone and was in the room with other guests as well as the arrival of the athlete, and she went to the door to ask us about her performance.

They've been sent away!

This has been one of my worst travel experiences. Due to difficulties in the public transport from London we arrived after the 6 p.m. check-in deadline. The owner was not in the Villa but did not answer to the phone either. A couple of guests came into the house while we were waiting but they did not know anything. The villa is not well located since it is in the crossroad between a road and the train track. It may get very noisy during the day but it was so isolated at that hour that it was even scaring. My brother waited there while I went to the little village to find some other lodging. Everything was closed but fortunately a cook from a hotel who was about to close the premises after cleaning the kitchen allowed us to spend the night in the only available room. I paid for that room even though Booking.com had already charged me the Villa´s room. The next day I found that the owner actually lives 150 kilometers away!!!! She comes in the morning and leaves the premises in the evening. I asked politely for a refund through Booking.com but she refused although we did not even have breakfast. Nice earnings for nothing, no breakfast expenses, no need to clean the room.

Una de mis peores experiencias de viaje. Debido a las malas conexiones de transporte público y retrasos que tuvimos desde Londres llegamos después del check-in que era a las 6 de la tarde. A las 9 la dueña ya no estaba porque no vive allí, luego supimos que vive en realidad a 150 km de distancia, pero tampoco nos atendía las llamadas al teléfono móvil que aparece en la propia puerta del alojamiento. Con dificultades encontramos otro sitio donde pasar la noche. Al día siguiente pude hablar con la dueña antes de marcharnos pero al pedirle que me compensará a través de Booking.com se negó rotundamente a pesar de que ni consumimos nada del desayuno (ya habíamos desayunado en nuestro improvisado hotel de esa noche) ni tuvo gasto alguno por la habitación que se la dejaría tal cual para los siguientes huéspedes. Bonita y fácil manera de ganar el dinero.

a nightmare / una pesadilla

I made a phone reservation at the Villa Elisabeth for Pentecost. When I arrived, the landlord was neither personally nor by phone reachable! I have called ten times! What more can I say?
