Just ended a lovely 3 night getaway at Ardmore Terrace Apartments.  Stayed in the fully serviced apartment at the rear (211 High Street ). A lovely view, clean, quiet, spacious, a modern but warm and welcoming decor.  Beautiful outdoor area.  Parking right outside the gate.   Within walking distance of cafes, Fremantle Markets, Fremantle Prison. Bus stop at the front.  Free red cat bus links to the Fremantle Train Station. Looking forward to coming back.

A Home Away From Home

We stayed for 3 nights including a weekend.  Peter the owner was a delight to deal with from first contact through to meeting us at the apartment and showing us where everything was.

The apartment was clean and comfortable and had all we required (except for a hair dryer) for our 3 day stay.  They even had Foxtel (cable tv) which meant we could watch the US Open tennis. 

The location was great - less than 10 minutes walk and we were sitting at our favourite coffee place on  the Cappuccino Strip.

The apartment is located at the back of the building so there is absolutely no street noise to worry about.

 Staying here was so much nicer than staying in a sterile hotel room. We  will definitely be back .

Peaceful place to stay in Fremantle

Peter Mcarthy and his lovely other half have created a beautiful spot to put your bags down when visiting Fremantle or Perth. The property is ideal for a short or long term stay and has everything you need to enjoy some time away from home.  I was jet lagged when we arrived, we flew in from Greece, but the English football (midnight in Fremantle) on the wide ranging cable network kept me, if not my wife, very happy.  I also watched several pretty good films whilst my wife slept.

The building was built in the 1880s and has been tastefully updated without losing its Victorian character.  The rooms are a good size, lovely pine doors, original cornices and light roses, the kitchen is fully (and I do mean fully) equipped and the shower in the well laid out and nicely tiled  bathroom could strip paint off your car from ten feet.  More to the point everything worked as it should.

The outside area is perfect for sitting out in and we ate there several nights and also safely entertained our one year old grand daughter.  It's beautifully laid out with plants and trees and cover from the sun.  50 metres away is a small park with swings and a slide, perfect for a lively one year old.

You can walk everywhere and there is a reserved parking spot for a car.  Close by is a chemist, a bottle shop (your must have Oz wine supply) and many diverse and excellent eateries.  Try Jac and the Bean for breakfast and the Gypsy Tapas for dinner.

This is not just a good apartment, it's a great apartment run by two young professionals and well worth the price.  I would definitely book again for our next Oz trip.

My one personal gripe is the internet signal wouldn't quite reach the outside area but then again my wife rather liked that.

Only stay here if you want a great, hassle free time in Fremantle

These apartments are a great option for staying in Fremantle; close enough to walk to all the sights and eateries, yet not in the middle of the hustle and bustle for a hassle free stay.  These apartments are well appointed and restored and there are plenty of options depending on how many are staying.  A good option for couples and families. We stayed for four nights and will definitely stay again at Ardmore. Peter is very helpful and attentive and happy to give you tips and advice.  We stayed in the upstairs apartment facing the street which doesn't have kitchen facilities but there are plenty of eateries close by.  (The other apartment has a kitchen)

Problem free stay in Freo

If you intend to spend some time in Fremantle and take in some of the Heritage Listed architecture (which is superb) then make the most of the opportunity to stay in the Heritage Listed Ardmore Terrace Apartments.

These terraces, built in 1907, are centrally located and literally only a stones throw from the Prison and a short five minute walk to South Terrace.  The rooms are clean and tastefully decorated and a couple have self catering facilities to cater for those on a tight budget.  Free off-street parking at the rear adds value to the package.

If your visiting Perth, Freo is great place to stay with a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere.  Public transport into the city is convenient and inexpensive.  Lots of restaurants, galleries, boutiques and the busy port is always a centre of attention.

Fremantle is great and Peter will go out of his way to make sure that you enjoy your stay at Ardmore Terraces.
