Yelverton Brook Conservation Sanctuary

Delightul experinece in this easily accessible but very tranquil natural setting. Highly recommended if you like bush camping away from crowds. Lots of birdlife plus quendas, kangaroos and pristine unspoiled banksia-sheoak bushland. Short hop to Yallingup and Dunsborough beaches and good coffee/bakery in Cowaramup.

Awesome retreat for Nature Lovers, Comfortable, clean and quiet. Close to busselton and Margaret river if you can prise yourself away from the relaxing peacefulness of the place. Cannot recommend highly enough. All the mod cons in the middle of the Bush. Non better

This place is a fabulous experience that you will always remember and love to talk about. The chalet is excellent, very clean, very comfortable and has everything you need and a great welcome pack that includes milk, butter and proper free range eggs from their chickens. The hot tub is a fantastic bonus, we used it morning and night! Joy and Simon are  friendly and knowledgeable hosts, always available for advice and local information. But the stars of this show are the animals. We are from England so to see these iconic Australian animals and birds up close and personal was such a privilege. We had visits from Kangaroos, Possums, a Bandicoot, beautiful birds plus a bobtail lizard. The kangaroos were very friendly and the antics of the possums were hilarious. We did go out to visit the local area, there is so much to see and do locally, but always rushed back to enjoy a BBQ on the patio, the hot tub and our animal visitors. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Top marks plus!

A very cosy  chalet. Well-equipped if you intend to cook. The morning scene was fabulous with kangaroos waiting right outside the yard. My boys were so excited to see the kangroos the moment they wake up in the morning. 

If you wish to get away from the busy city life, this is where you can visit. Although there is no streaming services available, Simon and Joy provided DVDs in the chalet. This was the only time where the family was sitted together with no distraction for social media!

Simon and Joy are friendly and are wonderful hosts. Do support them at their chalets which they had built on their own.

Just a little note, do plan your itinerary and arrive at Yelverton before night falls if it is your first to the conservatory.  Else you might missed the entrance as the area would be dark with no street lamps.

Fantastic little retreat set in an enclosed area where wild Possums and Kangaroos visited our back door daily. So friendly that one Kangaroo would come up and take Carrot from my mouth. Everything needed for a short stay  provided such as tea, coffee, toilet paper, pots and pans etc. Bottle shop only a few K’s away where you can pick up everything else. Would highly recommend.

Everything was just as we hoped. My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the 2 bedroom lodge. It was spacious, bed was comfy, kitchen was well equipped, plenty of hot water, tv channels. Spices, cooking oil, coffee, tea, butter were provided. The kangaroos, up to five of them (one with a Joey in her pouch), came every day an hour or two before sunset. I had purchased carrots, apples and bananas which I gave to the kangaroos. I cut it up and put it on the earthenware plate on the lawn and they helped themselves. For photos I offered a carrot piece which one of them took out of my hand. They are gentle creatures. The possums come out when it’s dark, so after sunset. They like the bananas. I put banana pieces in the hanging bird feeder with the skin removed. There is a cute skink that comes around in the morning. He likes grapes. I open them in half so he can smell them and leave them on the patio tiles. A couple of green parrots came by so I rushed to put out more bird seed and made sure the bird bath was topped off with clean fresh water. My husband and I walked the trails and enjoyed the variety of trees and bushes. We really enjoyed our time there. We would like to return. 

Best wildlife experience ever!! Very friendly kangaroos. They really like bananas. Possums (they love bananas and strawberries) and bandicoots at night. Beautiful birds during the day. Lovely cabin in a tranquil setting. Wish I could stay forever!

Great location to visit the South West. Accommodation was very comfortable, extremely well equipped and spotless.Nestled amongst the trees it felt like we were the only people there. Visits from the Roos, Possums, Bandicoots and birds was the highlight. Look forward to returning.

The property has all the amenities for a comfortable stay.  My kids enjoyed interacting with the local fauna that come up to the veranda to greet you in the evenings. The outdoor hot tub was a bonus attraction to relax in while stargazing at night.

Love the experience in Yelverton!

Fantastic Experiance!

A very relaxed space with excellent privacy and a very good spa'.
The design of the single bedroom cottages is excellent, and the standard of the fit=out well above average for holiday accommodation.
The location is good in that it is not too far from Perth, but well within reach of the Margaret River attractions.

We stayed 3 days and had a very pleasant stay, and you certainly couldnt get much closer

Lodging and Encounters with wildlife

Yelverton Brook sanctuary was a perfect relaxing getaway. 
Joy and Simon were great and made us feel so welcome.
The accommodation was immaculate, cosy and extremely well equipped. 
We loved the outdoor spa esp at sunset.
I particularly loved the effort taken to ensure that we could continue recycling and saving good food scraps for the chickens. 
In fact we had a super clean weekend and left the place with hardly any rubbish in the bins.
Well done Joy and Simon!

Trip down memory lane

Yelverton was amazing in every way. The cottages were super clean, very warm and comfortable but the best thing was waking up and going to bed with nature . 
Joy and Simon were the perfect hosts and really have set up an incredible place.i highly recommend this place and we have stayed in many places around the world. Look forward to going back next time we visit. 

Perfect place with nature at your doorstep.

We stayed here for four nights in a lovely peaceful cottage in the wilds of this sanctuary.   We had a lot of fun taking photographs of the resident wildlife who popped in from time to time to sample the food supplied.  A highlight was the possum Mums and babies who arrived just as it got dark and were happy to have us nearby as  they fed from the bird feeders. We were self catering and had all the necessary cooking stuff provided.  it was a highlight to see the fairy wrens taking mealworms from Joy’s fingers and we loved walking around the sanctuary taking photographs of anything that happened along.

An absolute must for wildlife encounters.

Best stay at Yelverton, chalet was perfect, had everything we needed and beautifully baked fresh organic bread waiting on our arrival.  Chalet was gorgeous and very clean.
It was fantastic to get away from the city and get back to nature, so tranquil. 
We could sit in the spa under the stars, breathe in all the fresh country air and just relax.
We had all the local visitors come to our door to be fed, kangaroos,  possums, both ringtail & bush tail, woylies, bandicoot, variety if birds.   We were able to go for a nature walk each day as the property had several trails throughout it. 
This was our first visit but will definitely not be our last, we loved it. It was like heaven on earth for us.
