A nice room and staff were helpful. We asked for extra milk at the front desk and the person was waiting at the room door before we got out of the lift, very impressed, thanks. Their onsite restaurant The Ascot left a lot to be desired. We only had the choice of the set menu $65 for 2 courses or a 3 course option, we chose the 2. The first course arrived 5 minutes before the free bread. The first course was a disappointment, I had pork belly which came within two minutes of ordering (so guess what it was pre prepared) it was dry and over cooked on one end. My partner had risotto which came at the same time as my pork belly so had to have been pre prepared and it was luke warm at the best. We sent them back told the service person about our displeasure and left. A total failure. We hummed and ached about Smitys downstairs as the service in the morning was a little lackluster and the roll just ok, however we decided to give it a go and we were glad we did. Smithys was very full and everyone was smiling. We ordered and the food came quickly considering the number of people. We were very happy with our meal and it was great value for money. Everyone esle seemed likewise and all their plates went back clean. A good recomendation.
