My husband and I are bird-watchers and stayed here for 3 nights during November 2023 as part of our guided bird trip with Marcelo Gavensky (5 stars for his guiding also). Everything about our stay here was fantastic. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, with drinkable water from the tap. I swam in the pool on a hot afternoon--delightful! We ate our meals at the lodge and enjoyed the presentation and care put into each meal. The location is so different from almost every other hotel/lodge in the Iguazu area. It is perfect for people who want the natural ecosystem right outside their room instead of having to drive 20-30 minutes to experience it. From the lodge property alone we saw toucans, monkeys, tegus, plush-crested jay, agoutis, and so much more! It was a more authentic forest experience than staying in town. The best part was the frequent presence of the local owners, Laura and Adrian. They are engaging and talented, both having received degrees in tourism and hospitality. I highly recommend this ecolodge for a peaceful, interesting, and engaging stay. 


Perfect for Easy Birding & Nature Access

I went on a trip with my dad and we had an amazing personalized experience. The owners Adrian and Laura were very kind and made us feel at home. I loved going on walks through the rain forest and learning about all the different kinds of birds that live there. The food was delicious and made from locally sourced ingredients. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend visiting.

A peaceful and immersive experience

I've spent a few days with my daughter and it was a fantastic experience. Laura and Adrian were super professionals and the best hosts. I have never before had experience with bird watching and it was such a great experience learning and enjoying this activity, especially with Adrian being great educating us while walking in the jungle. The food was great, always using local ingredients and products. We always felt treated as family.

Beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy nature.

We were looking for some nature and relaxation and we got both and more. Our hosts made such a huge effort and looked after us so well. The meals were delicious and Laura explained each one- lots of local specialities. 
Adrian took us on a bird watching/nature walk around the reserve- we saw monkeys, lots of birds including a hummingbird,3 species of Toucan and 3 different Manakins. We even saw one bird practice his mating ritual dance - less than 10 feet away from us- David Attenborough eat your heart out! We saw amazing butterflies, moths and stunning flowers! 
We went kayaking on the river Iguazú-  so peaceful and relaxing. You go with the current and it felt very manageable with Adrian guiding us -as we're beginners - and we got collected further downstream. 
And the cabin was very comfortable with a massive comfy bed, I felt like I was in a very nice hotel and then remembered I was in the middle of the rainforest!
We fitted a lot into 2 days - such a brilliant experience, the highlight of our 3 weeks in Argentina. Our hosts personal attention and genuine care made it very memorable. I would definitely recommend the experience. 

A magical rainforest experience

I spent a few nights at Surucua as part of a birding trip, and was left throughly satisfied with the level of attention, comfort, and quality of wildlife watching offered by the staff. The presence of the owners on premise ensured every need of each guest was carefully attended to, whether that was the preparation of a delicious (and early) breakfast or a cold beer after a long day in the field. Inventive yet local, the food was among the best I have sampled in Latin American lodges, especially considering it was tailored to accomodate a fellow traveller with an allergy. The cabins are spacious and comfortably appointed, conveniently connected to the main lodge by a raised platform. Adrian, the owner, was our guide for the few days we spent at the lodge, and he worked hard to show us some of the most important and impressive species of Misiones. The great network of trails on the grounds of the lodge means that one must not venture far to see a great variety of birds, and an organized night walk yielded some interesting mammals as well. All in all, Surucua is a lovely place that should be high on the list of every birder, nature enthusiast, or anyone who wishes to experience the beauty of far north Argentina.

Fantastic Lodge and Top-Notch Birding

Surucua is a 10-point place where everything works perfectly and you feel at home thanks to the warmth of the hosts and the efficiency of the staff.We spent three days of peace and outdoor activities that included wildlife viewing, kayaking in the Iguazú River and visiting the waterfalls, all coordinated from the lodge and embellished by the natural environment.

It is excellent.

We had a really relaxing and enjoyable stay with Laura and Adrian and their super friendly staff.
The rooms are very comfortable, the food is top quality, bird watching, bikes, kayaks and the sounds of the jungle . Brilliant !

Wonderful jungle lodge

It's a beautiful place and reserve, and it's an unmissable journey with Adrián to get to know it and observe birds that only in Misiones can be seen, and you can observe the rosewood, palm trees, the river...to enjoy it.

The Surucuá Ecolodge is located in Surucuá.

We arrived and were greeted with a tour of the beautiful trail with incredible diversity. Most of the records, especially lifers, were there!! With the guide of the owner who knew me very well about the birdsongs, he helped us find. A genius!! And the lady cooked very richly, very kindly, making us feel at home. Everything very good: the cleaning, the services, the comfort... Not a complaint. I have no words to thank you for such a beautiful experience!!

Encounter with Argentine birds

Laura and Adrián make every effort to have a great time, a great meal made by Claudia, very attentive everyone, they are very kind.Adrian is a great bird guide, knows a lot.Laura is in every detail.We have a great time and we will come back.
