Les Bordes D'Arinsal is a collection of lots of aparments and my review is for apartment D2.

The good points:

Great location, 5 minute walk uphill to the gondola, all the bars, shops & restaurants.
Lots of hot water for showers, even for 6 people
Nice apartment with most things you need

The bad points:

Check in is 2.5kms away in Erts at Chalet Janet. If, like us, you are arriving in Arinsal on the bus from Barcelona airport, this is not an easy place to check in. You have to get off the bus, climb up an incredibly steep hill with all your luggage to get to Chalet Janet and then somehow get yourself to Chalet D2 Borda, again all uphill. We did call the owners when we were on the bus to ask if they then took us from Chalet Janet to Chalet Borda but they speak no English or Spanish, just French!! Luckily we had a friend in the village with a car who was able to help us otherwise I have no idea how we would have managed.

The wifi in the apartment didn't work. We did report this and were given the password but it still never worked. Reading a review from 2016 this was reported then and still doesn't work.

There is no inventory list or welcome pack in the apartment. Based on our experience, check everything with a fine tooth comb and take pictures.

Whilst there is lots of hot water, neither of the showers have fixing points on the wall meaning you have to hold the shower head above you. Reading another review from 2016 this was reported then and still hasn't been resolved.
 
The neighbours have a dog and this barks every time someone passes by. With lots of people returning from a night out well after midnight, he barks a lot!!! 

There were 6 of us staying in the apartment and they gave us 1 key. When I asked for another the guy who showed us round the apartment gestured to just leave the key under the door mat, apparently it was very safe!!!

Most booking agencies say the deposit is 250 Euros but we were charged 300 euros.

I have been chasing the owners of this apartment for over a week to get our deposit back and they are refusing to send it as they claim that we left 2 marks on the dining table and that a wooden strip on one of the walls fell off. 

They claim that when we checked in we would have been given a logbook and been told we had 24 hours to report any discrepancies. We were never given any logbook or told about reporting any faults within 24 hours, there was no inventory list in the apartment so we had nothing to check anything against. There wasn't even information on how to work the central heating. Neither the lady at reception at Chalet Janet in Erts who took my deposit, nor the gentleman who showed us round the apartment spoke any English or Spanish, they only spoke French. 

Even if I had been given a log book, I'm not sure I would have reported the rings on the dining table, these are just things that happen over time and I would assume that the owners were already aware of them. They were definitely there when we arrived.

The strip of wood on the corner of the wall by the stairs came off on our last morning as we were bringing suitcases downstairs. This is something that can be easily fixed with a bit of wood glue and will not cost 300 euros to repair!! Had we not been about to get on our bus back to the airport I would have gone out and got the glue to repair it myself.

I have given the owners ample time to resolve this situation and have said that I am happy to pay a reasonable figure for them to glue the wood back onto the wall but they are refusing to refund any of my deposit.

It's a real shame as the apartment is well equipped and centrally located but I would never book
