Excellent
We really enjoyed staying in this super clean guest house with its traditional tatami mat flooring and futon beds. The main floor kitchen is well equipped for people who want to cook. The owner is a super cheerful, helpful, kind, industrious lady. She is around every day making the place spick and span, and will help you out with advice and recommendations. The immediate area doesn’t have any particular sites to visit, but it was interesting to see normal folks living their lives. We took a short train ride to nearby Shibimata, where the Kyoeizan Daikyoji Temple was a serious highlight of our trip. It was definitely a mainly locals hidden gem, with its ornate carvings and beautiful small garden, also a charming old shopping street. One has to be careful as to noise as you hear everything through the wall panels, but it was fun to experience this traditional type of house.
