I've stayed here twice and enjoyed both stays. The hosts are lovely and very accommodating - always trying to make my stay as pleasant as possible. The room I stayed in had very high ceilings and had the character of 'a castle from the olden days'.

A fabulous stay for our wedding anniversary. Great hosts, always there to help. Lovely breakfast. Great tower room over looking the gardens and pond. Ideal location to explore north wales. A very quiet and peaceful location. Will definitely come back again!

We loved our two-night stay at the Tower. Not only is it a great base from which to explore North Wales, it is also the most fascinating place to stay. It is full of history which John (our host) was delighted to explain. Breakfast was fab and if we can, we will be returning!!

This is a unique property full of history and intrigue. John was a fantastic host, very willing to share his rich family history and tell us all about the place.
Breakfast was lovely and we enjoyed meeting fellow travellers at the shared breakfast table.
Our room was not ensuite. But you could not make it ensuite without ruining it. Our shower room was just a few steps down.
The service is not polished and corporate, it is heartfelt and warm. It is like somebody inviting you into their home- which is exactly what it is!
The grounds are exceptional and the location is just a short walk from Mold town (approx 1 mile)
Come and try this place- you won't find anywhere else like it.

We loved our stay here!   Every other review has said it all about the historic house, huge bedrooms etc!  All true and a privilege to stay here.   On top of that add extremely comfortable beds, great duvets and linens,  excellent shower and a really delicious breakfast with quality ingredients, well cooked.   Lovely grounds and total peace and quiet.   A very welcoming host, friendly and you could tell he just wanted to make your stay perfect.   We so enjoyed it and hopefully will return one day!  Highly recommended.  Mold town is just down the road for supper or the Celtic Arms at Northop golf club served excellent food and is a short drive.

Tower is fantastic - I knew this as it was my second stay there - but I only found out at breakfast that if I had booked directly, via their website, I would have got a discount at the final stage of booking. Ah well, all the more excuse to go back again. 
This place is really nice. Seriously. 

We only stayed one night but enjoyed every minute.  The bed was comfortable, breakfast lovely and the building very special.

What a privilege being able to stay at this beautiful property which has apparently stayed in the same family for over 500 years. 
The place is steeped in history and full of lots of beautiful works of art and furniture.

The staff were so attentive and every care and attention was made to provide excellent service and looking after me.

What can I say about the room ! Well where do I start ! HUGE !!! The biggest room with the highest ceilings I’ve ever seen in a building other than a palace. 
Such a shame it’s a B&B and they can’t offer dinner particularly as it’s a little way out of town.

My only feedback to improve is to add lighting to the signage at the front as it’s in the countryside and pitch black I struggled to find it and sat nav doesn’t get you there.
 

Well, was not really expecting such an amazing place! Obviously, I saw the exterior of the building, but it was last minute, so didn’t explore much more.
We were met by John, the owner, who is so friendly and welcoming, you really don’t feel that you’re staying at a B & B. We were shown to a beautiful double room, with very tasteful en suite. The room was out of this world!!! 
We went to our event, came back and had a great nights sleep.
Breakfast is served in the oak panelled dining room, and included cereals, juice, pots of tea and coffee, followed by a delicious cooked breakfast breakfast, with toast. 
John is more than happy to chat about the house, which has been in his family for generations, and is full of fascinating treasures.
We will definitely be back!!!

Wonderful historic place to stay with great host and breakfasts!

What an amazing place!

Fabulous

My wife and I stayed one night in the twin room overlooking the lake on the evening of our 43rd wedding anniversary. Even for just the one night, staying in this historical building was a peaceful, memorable experience. There were no other guests, which suited us, but it wouldn't have mattered if all the rooms were taken. John, the owner was very friendly and shared his knowledge about the wonderful old building. There was almost too much choice for breakfast and it was delicious.
Apart from the rooms which were steeped in history, the grounds and small lake make a pleasant place for a stroll. As a photographer, I can appreciate how many photo opportunities there would be for a wedding. I am hoping to return sometime to use the place as a location for a photography workshop.

Wedding Anniversary

Tower is a lot of fun: interesting, comfortable and always something new to look at, wherever you turn.  John and Steph are wonderful hosts.  Breakfast is very good indeed.  A very nice place to stay, where nothing is too much trouble.  Gorgeous surroundings but not so grand that you feel like a trespasser.

We had the twin room (pretty view), with beds pushed together - it was the biggest bed I've ever seen in my life, and very nice to sleep in.  (Good linens and very clean.)

Well located, on the edge of town.  Town centre is an easy drive or a 20 minute walk.  Anglesey and Caernarfon an hour in one direction and Altrincham an hour in the other.

What a lovely place to stay - a real gem if you appreciate history, landscape and the environment. We received a warm welcome from the owner. Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the dining room is glorious and breakfast time was a real treat talking to other guests. John also catered very considerately at breakfast time for my wife's gluten free requirements. With my interest in history this was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. A real delight.

A real gem

Me and my partner couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by John with such a warm welcome that it almost felt like we had been here several times before - nothing was too much trouble! Breakfast was served to a time that suited us and was delightful, with toast, cereal, yogurt and even a cooked breakfast on offer. The rooms and surrounding grounds were everything we had hoped and more. On top of all this, they even let us check-out slightly later than usual due to us both nursing a hangover after a wedding! 
Thank you to both John and Steph for being wonderful hosts - We'll definitely be back!!

Beautiful home from home!

We've been meaning to visit for a few years now but it always happens to be closed when we're free. Noticed that for the month of May it was open daily at 2pm for 1-hour paid tours so we went along one Friday afternoon. We were the only ones there. No official guide that day, but the owner could show us around if we were happy with that? Heck yes! John was a gracious host. He's still learning about this interesting building that has been home to his family for generations. We had a great time being shown around the house including the back garden (originally the front) so we could see the different types of stonework and coat of arms, a peek into the cellar, the newly exposed (and still being worked on) Jacobean staircase (thanks John - this made my day!), the bedrooms, the attic, the old maps of the area (fascinating). This is a b&b and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to family and friends. Thanks John for a memorable tour, so glad we finally got to see this wonderful slice of history!

Absolutely fantastic , full of history, extremely welcoming and friendly ,breakfast amazing , good Wi-Fi,  everything you need in the rooms and a great big Victorian bed and so comfy .The Tower is set in beautiful grounds not far from the pretty village of mold  ( we walked to the pubs at night 25 mins) and is steeped in history ,the owner gave us a mini history lesson on the tower fascinating. So if you want something a little different with character and charm we can highly recommend..we will be returning with friends .
