Great local pub, but the food was just brilliant. 5 of us all had mains and 4 had puddings. It was perfect. I normally have Pudding, Chips, Peas and Gravy from a local chippy in my home town when I go up north. It's not gourmet but comfort food, and we can't get it in London. Ye olde Cheshire Cheese upped the anti and provided a real home made pudding with plenty of gravy, mushy peas and chips. I was well pleased. The fish and chips were good too. Everyone said that their food was really nice. The staff looked after us all. They have a good range of beers stouts and ales. I enjoyed the Apple Crumble, with extra custard, for afters too.
