This is the best B&B we have ever stayed an and we have stayed in many. Could not find any fault at all.  Fantastic property, great hosts, great views, best breakfast I’ve ever had. Can’t rate it high enough. Everything was just perfect thank you Lin and Bob

We were made very welcome by Lyn and Bob. We stayed in the Marsden room which was well positioned at the back of the house. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. The attention to detail was appreciated by us as was the wonderful breakfast. Would certainly stay again

We stayed here in December 2023 and came again at the beginning of this month.
Lyn and Bob are the most welcoming of hosts. Everything is beautifully presented and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The en-suite room was very comfortable and spacious, with a dressing room, and the attention to detail is exceptional. There was even a torch provided. It was also good to see that the toiletries were in refillable containers.
The breakfasts are amazing, with a great menu choice, and everything is freshly cooked. The breakfast room is light and airy with a lovely view over the garden. 
There is also use of the snug should you wish to sit downstairs.
Although the house is situated by a main road, it is set back and very peaceful. We even heard owls at night, which was an added bonus.

We cannot recommend Oak Lodge highly enough. Thank you Lyn and Bob.

There is nothing to fault here. Lovely hospitality. Huge breakfast and choices. Bed was comfortable. En-suite was clean and offered heated towel rail as well as free toiletries to use. Cleanliness was extremely good. Would recommend and stay here again. 

What a find this Band B is, one of the best we have ever stayed in. Fantastic value for money, situated on the A39 in Stratton. We stayed for 4 nights as were attending a wedding at nearby Launcells Barton. Comfy beds, exceptional room with plenty of storage space, tv and free wifi access, and the breakfast, well a "proper job" to set you  up for a bsy day site seeing, surfing, walking or just chilling at the beach, there is so mch choice. Fantastic vale we will def be back.

We stayed in the Chesebrough room which was very well fitted out and spacious.  The large walk in shower was a bonus.  The room had a beautiful view over the local village.  The house was spotlessly clean.  There was a wide selection for breakfast and cooked as you ate your cereal or mixed fruit (which my wife particularly enjoyed).  Lyn and Bob were great hosts without being ‘in your face’. I would recommend Oak Lodge very highly and will definitely stay there again if we are ever again in that area.

We stayed at Lyn & Bob's B&B for 2 nights as a mini getaway from Bournemouth. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The accommodation was immaculate, the hosts were very friendly and breakfast was gorgeous, with a big variety to choose from. We would definitely stay again.

Yet another fantastic holiday at Oak Lodge Bude - Lyn and Bob are the very best of hosts, helpful and attentive, plus the best breakfast (poached eggs with every full English for me) set you up for the day ahead every time. Great location for a nice walk into town of an evening. A home from home, Lyn and Bob make you feel so welcome and comfortable in their home - so much so we just keep coming back - same time next year please. Regards Shaun and Clare.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during a 9 day visit to Devon and Cornwall. Lyn and Bob were superb hosts and ensured our stay with them was a memorable one.. Once past the tight parking spaces everything about their home was wonderful. We stayed in the Marsden bedroom, which had it's own dressing room as well as an en suite, with views over the neighboring countryside and Stratton church in the distance. On arrival we were offered tea/coffee and homemade chocolate brownies, and sat in their lovely, peaceful garden to enjoy them. 
Lyn and Bob were extremely helpful in providing information about the local area i.e. where to eat and what to see. There is a folder within the bedrooms that provides this information as well.
Breakfasts were first class, with plenty of choice to suit everyone's needs.
Without a doubt this was the best B & B we have ever stayed in, and would highly recommend it as a stopover point if travelling further into Cornwall or as a base to explore Devon and Cornwall.

The Best B & B Ever Visited

We stayed 4 nights at Oak Lodge while visiting friends in Bude. 
The accommodation is excellent and Lyn and Bob are great hosts.
Our room, although not large (Acorn annex) was absolutely fine for a short break. Quality of fittings was excellent. Nice touches like quality toiletries and room fragrance. Good selection of teas, coffees etc and nice biscuits.
Breakfast choice is submitted the previous day and was of the highest quality with lots of choice.
We would not hesitate to stay at Oak Lodge again.

Ideal

Stayed for 3 nights. Lyn and Bob are lovely hosts so welcoming, on arrival tea/coffee with homemade chocolate brownies (they were still warm) loved them. Our room was so clean and fresh with bathrobes and slippers, toiletries were of really good quality.  A vast choice for breakfast which was excellent. Best B&B we have ever stayed in 
definitely a 5* experience. Thank you Lyn and Bob for making our stay and Anniversary so special, will definitely be back.

Amazing Stay

What a beautiful place. Wonderful accommodation with beautiful views.
Our room (Chesborough) was so comfortable with plenty of storage and a wonderful bathroom with the cleanest shower cubicle i've ever seen. It looked brand new.
From tea and Brownies on arrival in the garden through to advice on restaurants and places to visit, Lyn and Bob were excellent hosts, and nothing was too much trouble.
We even 'topped up' our trip with an additional night, which, i think,says it all.
Would definitely return :-)

Simply the best b&b that i have ever stayed in.

We stayed at Oak Lodge for 4 nights.  Beautiful location, the hosts Bob and Lynn made us feel very welcome.  The accommodation is tasteful and spotlessly clean.  We felt Covid safe and all precautions where practically possible have been taken.  The choice of breakfast is excellent, a choice of full English or healthy porridge available as we dresh fruit and yoghurts.  We could not fault our stay.  Weather didnt play ball, location and setting made up for it.  We would recommend planning where you wish to eat as the nicer eaterys will be booked!.

Excellent stay

We stayed at Oak Lodge from 12th Sept to 17th Sept. From the lovely welcome with tea and cake on arrival to leaving, everything was perfect. Lyn and Bob are the perfect hosts, nothing too much trouble. The rooms and facilities are more fitting to a 4 star hotel. Will definitely re visit. Anyone looking for a break in comfort and relaxed surroundings, I would definitely recommend Oak Lodge. Thank you so much Lyn and Bob, and Magic the cat!!
